Nintendo Power makes a funny?
« on: March 02, 2007, 03:05:57 PM »
In a rare moment of actual humor, Nintendo Power made a jab at everyone's favorite Crazy Ken Kataragi from Sony.

The latest issue of Nintendo Power features a delightful little article on the anticipated Wii title, Super Paper Mario.  The intro contains a little joke that had me "L-O-L-ing out loud", if you will.

Quote
The latest effort from acclaimed developer Intelligent Systems allows you to alternate between 2-D and 3-D perspective on the fly.  One might be tempted to call it the first-ever 5-D adventure (take that Kataragi). Or at the very least, one of the most promising and inventive titles of 2007.

I was amused....

I believe it's a quote from last weeks episode of Monk. Monk discovered the internet and said that exact same thing. It was funny because it doesn't actually make sense.

That's kind of funny. I always like it when Nintendo makes little jabs toward the competition. Overall, I like the attitude of humility among the bigwigs (Reggie being the main exception to that), but a little humor never hurts.
Thanks for listening.

So...for that to happen Sony would have to create an add on that spews odors on command, sprays water on you, shoot air blasts at you and maybe even throw in some 3D glasses...Or maybe even have an actor dressed as one of the characters come into your room and help you out!

That's how all the theme parks do it!

You know, humor is only anger with its makeup on and I know how miffed you get when someone gets something out of a joke that you don't, but really, let this sh*t die.
"OK, first we need someone to complain about something trivial. Golden or S_B should do. Then we get someone to defend the game, like Bill or Mashiro. Finally add some Unclebob or Pro666 randomness and the thread should go to hell right away." -Pap64

Yeah, I caught that as well when I was reading the Super Paper Mario story.  I was amused by it as well, as I've not know the NP mag to be taking shots at the competition.  Overall, it was a good issue...although I was hoping the MySims to utilize the Miis.

the closest Sony will get to 4D with the PS3 is a game with a burning house and then your own, and that would only be due to coincidence.

That wasn't even the best joke from the issue.

In their preview for that Chocobo DS game, they said "Chocobos have provided reliable, random battle-free transportation for androgynous protagonists since Final Fantasy II."
"ROFS? Rolling on the floor... starving?"- Phoenix Wright
