If I didn't know any better, I would swear that no one ever reads The OFFICIAL Wii rumor thread where stuff like this has already been posted and already being discussed. But now having said that, carry on.

Well, that official thread is like 500 posts and has loads of crap predating the Wii release in it, I'm certainly not going to read all that.

Yeah I agree with you KDR anyways I wonder if they are going with the fighting genre on the Wii, giving you an option of 3 different controlers (remote + chuck), Gamecube, Classic controller. And maybe with the remote and chuck combo they can help out those people who are bad with guilty gear's incredibly long combo list.

I've heard Dust Strikers was pretty awful, but I'll give this one a rent once it comes out.

Not to stay off topic or anything, but all the updated rumors are added to the first post, and you only have to scroll back to the "updated" date to find the latest "rumor". You don't have to scroll through the entire thread, just the last page or two most of the time.

I think that's because handhelds are notorious for downgrading fighters in order to fit them in their limited storage. Some have been really good (I heard Tekken PSP was very solid), but overall very few fighters are able to do well as handheld games because the format is too limited for them.

Handhelds these days aren't limited, it's the fact that if they want one to come out well enough on something like the DS the art assets have to be made from the ground up to accomodate the resolution difference.  MvC1 in the arcades was a 32MB game and it was more than enough for what it set out to do.  The average DS game ranges from 64 to 128MB these days and the tech is far more powerful than something like CPS2.

Speaking of which, the main GGXX games and Dust Strikers are eons apart from each other, they are nothing alike.

I really hope this comes out.  I have really wanted to get into this series, but nothing was released for Gamecube, and so I missed out.

So far this series has tried to push the limits of 2D fighters by pushing the limits of concepts and options for play.  Though in the end, everyone is waiting for Street Fighter 4.  After Capcom's strong Street Fighter 3 going back to the basics...I would like to see Capcom redefine the basics with a simplier fighter but, with carefully crafted depth and counter moves...all in beautiful 2D of course.

I'd love to see Melty Blood DS. Or, considering Tsuki Hime is a bit old now, a "sequel" to Melty Blood based on Fate.

I just noticed this game today too and threw together a quick profile for this site.  It's supposed to be out soon according to GameFaqs and Gamefly (I'm guessing one place got the date from the other).

IGN has a profile for it showing the Japanese box art with no US date labeled.  I'm not really sure.
