WiiConnect24 Shennanigans

I just got my Ethernet adapter for my Wii today, and, after getting a LAN min-switch out of my dad, I got my Wii hooked up alongside my computer.  I connected, got a firmware update (Wiiii!  I can read the SD card on the data screen now! ), but now whenever I attempt to connect, I get the following error: "Error Code 101305: There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service.  Try again later."  Is the problem on my end, or the other end?  Is the service down at the moment?

Specific Error Code Not Found - General Troubleshooting

Try adjusting the "Channel" your wireless router broadcasts on. We highly recommend setting your wireless router to either channel 1 or 11. This can potentially increase the download speed. For information on accessing your router's settings, click here to select the brand name and model number of your router (if available).

Check your router's broadcast settings to find out if it is set to "G", "B", or "Mixed." Mixed typically works best, but try all three to see if it improves the network connection to the Wii console.

Make sure that any other interfering devices, such as microwaves and cordless phones, are turned off. Wireless keyboards and mice may also cause interference.
Looks like Nintendo doesn't have a solution for your specific problem.  Try check out this page for general advice on how to troubleshoot.

Speaking of which, I'd like to mention that Channel 11 on your router doesn't seem to work well anymore. I started getting some 5... error messages with my router on that channel. It's fine when you switch it to 1 though..

maybe u got one of those early produced Wii's.  I got mine day one and my system was one of the potential "bricks".  Early systems will brick after the update.  If u call Nintendo they will get u a replacement in no time and for no fees.

Hey, new poster here. I got my wii a couple days after launch and I got the same error. I googled the code and found nothing definitive, even Nintendo doesn't seem to know anything. I messed with the connection settings on my wii and my router to no avail. But, on a magical day in december, my wii decides to connect to the internet. I still google this error and have yet to find anything conclusive. I'm just guessing but it seems to me that it has something to do with the Nintendo servers.

Good luck, it took me about a month to get online.

WuTangTurtle and I were in the same boat. I got some error # (not the one you got) + "There is a problem with the WiiConnect24 service. Try again later." After reading about it online and calling Nintendo, it was confirmed: I had a bricked Wii. With Advance Replacement, they got a new Wii in my hands before I had to send in the old one. It's the way to go unless you have saved data you can't afford to lose. In that case, they'll have to repair your actual unit, meaning you'll have to go Wii-less for a week or two.

Now, is your Wii bricked? I don't know, but I'd worry just a little if I were you. Call Nintendo, see what they say.
