Where'd the DS Lite go?

Have any of you heard that lites will not be available until the end of January?

I work at gamestop and have gotten emails from corporate telling us that we wont get any more until the end of January...

Anyone have a clue why this would be?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first christmas that the DS Lite has seen.  That could be a major part of them selling out.  Also It wouldn't surprise me if some of the US DS Lite's were sent to Japan to deal with some of the massive shortages there.

I don't think anyone anticipated the DS Lite being as popular this Christmas.  I bought one and my coworker bought three (for his three kids).  Everytime I have been to Gamestop, I see someone asking about DS Lites.  Nintendo is trying to get them out of the factory as quickly as possible, but it's going to take time to replenish the stock.
