The original Virtual Console game series I want to see...
« on: December 27, 2006, 12:41:12 PM »
How many of you managed to play Pac-Man vs?

Well, you all suck. It's a great game.

The idea of the game is that Miyamoto took a "classic" game (In this case, Pac-Man) and did his own thing with it.

Imangine if there was an entire series of games like this.  Miyamoto's Sonic the Hedgehog.  Miyamoto's Space Invaders.  Miyamoto's Pong.

Whadda think?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

I played Pac man Vs. It was a neat and fun little game, but required too much equipment in order for it to be a staple in gaming.

I loved Pac Man Vs. Loved it. Beautiful example of multiplayer design with multiple screens and imperfect vs. perfect information.

uh... that's all I have to say.

I'd like a 3-D Moon Patrol. Hop over moon potholes while shooting alien ships out of the sky. Just aren't enuff sci-fi games out. :0

So yeah, why haven't they made a Wi-Fi enabled Pac-Man Vs. for the DS yet?

I do not think that many would purchase a DS version of Pac-Man Vs. simply because the price would probably be at least $15. I can't see Nintendo/Namco selling a game for less than that, no matter how bare-bones it might be. If they made it part of another, larger game, then it would work out.

Though maybe this could be a good example of Wii/DS connectivity. The game could be purchased cheaply over the Wii Shop Channel. The only extra piece of hardware it would require is the DS itself and I'm sure plenty of Wii owners own one (or have a friend that does). If they made it online-enabled then the need for a DS is eliminated (although the game is probably more fun in the presence of friends).
Thanks for listening.

I knew someone would say this. Which is why I would like to mention that Yoshi's Story was one of the first EAD titles that Miyamoto was not involved with as either a director, producer, or designer. That explains a lot, eh?

I'd rather he just stuck to creating brand new Mii games.

Wow... it all makes sense in retrospect. Nothing in the game outright called out "Miyamoto" to me.

But like I said, I still enjoyed the game for some of its quirks. Flawed, yes, but you can't beat constipated yoshis!

ja yoshi's story was the shiznit they should do more like it.

they also should do some of those $15 games that marioallstars mentioned for the DS that would be pimp
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

You know that is one of the great things about Miis you don't have to spend a lot of resources for character files. You can concetrate on the game and some  graphics and to make graphics that fit it ouldn't take alot of space so it prefect for small new games.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

Miyamoto doing all the games is quite impossible.  Unless he just told another development team what to add and walked away.

However, if Nintendo would open its library and trade concepts with other 3rd party developers it could work even better.

Sonic Team's Super Mario Brothers

Miyamoto's Sonic and Tails

Will Wright's Animal Crossing

Even allow Nintendo's internal teams to have a chance designing new concept's and themes for classic games.

Then the games can sell on the virtual console for like: $15.00 or perhaps the highest premium $20.00 for like a Nintendo 64 quality game.

Miyamoto was not involved?  Hmm, maybe I am getting a forgetful in my old age (lol), but I kind of recall reading in an old EGM mag, an interview with Miyamoto.  It sticks out in my head because he keeps bragging about 21/2d or something.

But alas, after taking a quick glance at wikipedia, I can see you are right.  Hmm, I guess he really is a gaming god after all.
