Nintendo's Wii titles for 2007
« on: November 25, 2006, 05:08:23 AM »
A few weeks back there was a thread where some were worried that there was nothing to look forward to in 2007 because the spring release lineup consisted on only 3-4 Nintendo titles. Go Nintendo has made a list of all the first party games that are scheduled to be released in 2007.

* Animal Crossing
* Battalion Wars II
* Big Brain Academy
* Disaster: Day of Crisis
* DK Kongo Blast (Former GC title)
* Eyeshield 21 (Japan only)
* Excite Truck (Already released in the US)
* Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn
* Forever Blue
* Kirby
* Mario Party 8
* Mario Strikers Charged
* Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
* Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
* Super Mario Galaxy
* Super Paper Mario (Former GC title)
* Super Smash Bros. Brawl
* Wii Health Pack (S_B called this one :p )
* Wii Music

Pretty damn good if you as me. Hopefully, Nintendo evens the releases of these games, instead of releasing them all on Fall and forgets about the rest of spring and summer.

NOTE: These are currently Japan, so some games may be released much later or delayed in both countries.

Im sure Nintendo will space these out since they love doing that especially in America since it will probably be much easier for Nintendo to get healthy 3rd party support this time arround and then make some surprise announcements with an onslaught of games in the holiday 07 season.

If they could somehow get BWII, Mario, and Metroid out this year in the US, I would be pleased.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

WiiMusic intrigues the hell out of Mii! If they add more sophistication to Wiidrums, such as adding more drums to choose from and being able to record and edit on the fly....maybe add in a multiplayer showdown or jam session and you got a winner on your hands.

Also, WiiHealthPack intrigues me as well. If Nintendo can make exercise fun, then they got it made.

Oh yeah! I forgot all about the drumming. If I am not mistaken, both the E3 trailer and the launch press release trailer show at least one gamer drumming in the air. I wonder if drumming is part of Wii music (as neat as the conductor game is, I doubt they would make that the sole game in the package).

Has Kirby actually been announced?  And I know Animal Crossing has been mentioned, but I don't remember Nintendo ever committing to a 2007 release.  Not to be annoying, I just want to avoid accidentally disappointing anybody.
That's my opinion, not yours.

Actually, funny you should mention that. The news site updated saying that Animal Crossing is still undecided for a 2007 launch.

Incredible line up on the way in '07. Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Super Smash Bros. Brawl... so many must-have titles in there.

There's no way Mario will be later than a summer release..

It wouldn't be very wise to release Galaxy along with Brawl in the same time period (I'm assuming Brawl will release during the 2007 holiday season).

Nice schedule for 2k7, I think those should be mine:
* Disaster: Day of Crisis
* Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
* Super Mario Galaxy
* Super Paper Mario (Former GC title)
* Super Smash Bros. Brawl
* Wii Music

I'm not sure about these 2:
* Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
* Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn

And what the heck is this one?!
* Forever Blue

Honestly, I can't see Nintendo releasing Metroid, Mario and SSB:B all within a six month period.  It wouldn't make sense.  One of those has to be for '08.  I would be happy, don't get me wrong.  But I worry about the following two years.  Perhaps a new Kid Icarus or Earthbound would make a nice late '07 killer app?  Maybe Punch Out, which would be a system seller.

I can see SSB:B being delayed, especially if they have to work out the online.

What happened to Metroid Prime Corruption?  It seems it's not on Nintendo's 1Q 2k7 release list.

I DARE YOU!

Seriously, this is how I see the 2007 launches:
Metroid Prime 3: Late spring/Late summer
Super Mario Galaxy: Late Summer/Late Fall
SSB Brawl: Late Fall/Winter, early 2008

In between them are the titles mentioned in this thread.
