Caliban: Just play Zelda's Lullaby...I don't think the game checks for pacing, just get the notes correct...

And oh God, Dungeon 4...Redeads with SWORDS!?  Ninty what were you thinking!? ;_;

Bill: Yeah I eventually figured it out, it was pretty cool, you don't have to be very precise to get it right which is cool too.

I'm at the beginning of dungeon 4 too.

Btw, has any of you need to change batteries? I did a few minutes ago while playing Zelda, 20 hours in btw, but I think the Wii Sports and Excite truck sessions have also helped wane the batteries.

I am 23 hours into Zelda and I finally had to change batteries...And I've spent at least 3 hours of farting around in the Wii settings and playing Excite Truck...

I've noticed that in almost all N64 and later Zelda games they get easier as you go along, because you get those much-needed hearts.  Minish Cap was one exception, because healing items aren't as powerful in that game.

One idea that I think might be cool is to make it so that a fairy can only revive Link with, say 3/4 of his hearts, but if you're careful enough to use it before you die, it refills everything.

I'm trying to take this one slow, but every time I see how far ahead everyone is on me I want to PLAY PLAY PLAY!!  I'm just starting out on the second dungeon.  Gorons are cool, but their rocky nipples are freaky.

Finished the third dungeon last night, and stayed up far too late to do it.  That boss fight was awesome.  Boy, story takes an interesting turn after that, and that's all I'm going to say.

Anyway, I'm just about ready to declare this the best Zelda game ever.  This is going to sound just awful, but I'm kind of glad that my wife has caught a bug and can't stay at the cabin all weekend for Thanksgiving ... now I have more time to play!

Hey Bill, in the 4th dungeon did you come upon some game glitch of some sort? After you defeat the 4 poes there's a room with spikes springing out of the floor, and at the end of that room there is that chain you gotta pull to open the gate, but just a little right before you reach that arear, perhaps mid room I think, and Link starts walking as if though he was on sand even though he is on solid floor. it seriously is freaking me out, and because of that I can't even reach my goal in time.

Btw, today I got my official Nintendo component cables and Zelda is looking sharp as ever.

Edit: Nevermind, lol, I got through, there's no glitch lol lol. Oh boy that was cool lol *can't stop laughing at himself*.

Caliban: Yes, I hit that exact same glitch (at least I think it's a glitch)...This is how I bypassed it:  I went as fast as I could, rolling past all the sand parts.  Pull the chain, then when you come to the rock platform that sinks, BE SURE TO STEP ON IT...If you go through the sand instead of stepping on the platform, you'll most likely become "heavy"...For some reason, when I took the sinking platform, I wasn't affected...

Bill: It's not a glitch, I'm 100% sure, I used Wolf Link, then I switched to Sense vision and there I saw the culprits, phantom rats or whatever they are called, so all I had to do was shake and kill or kill before they latch and severly slow you down lol.

Okay, I got Wii on opening, got to play about a half hour or so of Wii Sports with my sister (she and my family all love it), but then I had two days of Wii-lessness.  However, this morning I got to play about three or so hours of Zelda, and I don't think I need to say how awesome it is.
Love how surreal Hyrule Castle is in the twilight realm; or the twilight realm in general, really.  I've just entered it for the second time, so I'm not too far, but everything is quite cool.  I love Midna, especially her body motion and how expressive she is.  Plus she's a mischievous little thing, and I really love characters like that

I'm very much going to like this game, although I don't expect to get heavy playtime in until Christmas (Probably not bringing it to school with me, for the two and a half weeks I have left).  ANTICIPATION

One of my freak friends says he beat it already and that it was too easy.  I think he is lying about beating it that quickly.  Or that it was all that easy, some of the puzzles are pretty tough so far. Anyone got any input?

The game isn't super-hard, but that hasn't been the point of Zelda since the NES days.  So far it's harder than Wind Waker, which makes me happy.

As for length, it's certainly possible that he beat it if he had nothing better to do.  I've heard that it can be beaten in 35 hours on the first playthrough, but personally I expect it will last me more like 60-80.  It all depends on if you're the type to stop and talk to everyone or the type to blast through everything, skipping as much story as possible and focusing on action.

I just finished TP.
I clocked in between 37 and 40 hours.
Now I can play my other Wii games, and once in a while I will return to TP to finish it off completely, 100%.

I can't help but feel compelled to drive the story forward instead of dinking around. I really do want to explore, but when I had to choose between exploring the field and going to the desert, I decided on the latter. Which, btw, is freaking awesome.

Annoyance: You have found a blue rupee! For the 32nd time! Congrats!

Also, I love the sword techniques, I just don't feel like they're all that necessary cause no sword wielding enemy has been difficult so far (I'm in the fourth dungeon).

I'm not going to rush through it like that, that's lame.  I just got to Kakariko Village and I've already clocked in over five hours.  This game is going to take me a long time.  I talk to every person, check every nook and cranny, investigate everything.  I can't beat it and get the extra stuff later.  Well, obviously there's some stuff I do afterward (especially in Wind Waker, Nintendo Gallery ftw), but I try to do as much as I can while playing the main game.  It feels more immersive that way.

I didn't rush it, I just had enough daily time to spend playing only TP, and I certainly don't want to rush anyone here at NWR. I guess that when the next Zelda is rumoured to be made I can start talking about what happened in TP lol.

Haha, probably.
It's probably not rushing it, I really just take Zelda at a snail's pace.  And I'm always afraid I'll beat it so late that no one will want to talk about it anymore. . .

OMG!!  Fourth dungeon and boss spoilers That spinner is FREAKIN AWESOME I could have spent a long time just playing with it.  And I had so much fun with that boss, especially the second part of the battle, I couldn't help but shout "Hop!" every time I went from one wall to the other

Cut scene after the dungeon.  GANONDORF!!!!!

Yeah that 4th dungeon tool is pretty wicked, and it was so well integrated into the boss battle that it amazed me too.

I finished it today, and I feel the same way. None of my real life friends have yet to finish it, and I really want to talk about it. But there are still those 24 heart pieces left! And poes and bugs!

I just finished dungeon 6. I got stuck for quite a while because I didn't think using the iron boots could tip the scale.

Literally an hour in the scale room with the damn statue.  I was getting a drink and it hit me.  God that sucked.
