Wii hits pre-Thanksgiving: spread the faith!
« on: November 16, 2006, 10:09:10 AM »
Nov. 23rd is Thanksgiving this year. Obviously, US citizens will very likely have their Wiis by that time.

Thanksgiving means a family gathering for most: piles of relatives and children who don't live in your home.

This is a GOLDEN opportunity to demonstrate the Wii to extended family members, and luckily, we'll all have Wii Sports as the best example of this.

I know the extra 3 Wiimotes won't be cheap, but if you sell back some of your old games to Gamestop/EB (which I did), you can wind up not spending any "real" money on accessories. Take a good, hard look at all of your old GC, DS and GBA games: are you ever going to play those again?

I'll be bringing my Wii to thanksgiving this year and I'm sure it'll go over well. Frankly, I wonder if Nintendo had this planned for the US launch from the start...

Let's also use this thread for Thanksgiving/family feedback when it happens.

This is precisely what I am doing.

My nephew and I are gonna throw down on some Tennis.

Then I'm going to show off Monkey Ball or something.

My sisters are going to get mad when their husbands end up wanting one.
I must find a way to use "burninate" more in my daily speech.

I'm totally whipping out my Wii and making my whole family play with it. As a matter of fact I won't be happy until every last person takes a spin.

IceCold, who wrote your signature quotes?

I'm not waiting until Thanksgiving to show off my Wii, I'll be making my parents play at first and then any other relatives/friends/salesmen that come to the house for a month or 2 after I get the system.

Well of course Imma have mine up and running on that day, but I sure as hell aint gonna use Wii SPorts as the gaem to lure them in, if I wanted ot use a sports game Id use Madden cuz THAT WORKS for getting non gamers playing games.

But I will show off all the cool features and let the VC do the rest of the work.

The only thing is I have a weirdo sister who thinks Mario is too violent and doesnt want me getting video games for her kids (my niece and nephew) which is along the lines of they dont even own a TV.

Hmm, thats a good idea, I should bring it to my aunts for Turkey Day.  I dunno what the response would be...

I think Ice Cold's quotes might be Yogi-isms, which means Yogi Berra said them...

I have to work during Thanksgiving, but we will only have our drive through open, since we have been warned by the gas station adjactent to us that the even though they have a wide selection of food the biggest sellers are beer and cigerettes. So we will have some food and entertain for the employees who have sacrificed their holiday to work for regular pay. (Our owner is a prick that way.) So I will be bring a "TV" (An HD monitor too bad I will not have component right away, I said TV so she would not say no), but I'm bring my Wii and games. Mostly for me to play.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.
