Went back and played Excite Truck for 15 minutes. I was trying to beat the Canada level on the first series of tracks to unlock Silver courses for gamestop.
First, the game doesn't have any options to adjust sensitivity, however as noted before the games sensitivity is adjusted and feels good as is now.
Also, I learned the game has a heavy emphasis on drifting (much like a blend of Mario Kart and Ridge Racer). The easiest way to start a drift is to tap the brake during a turn. Then to get higher drift points do the whole Mario Kart drift technique.
Once you get drifting down racing through the turns feels much better. Also this is a racer that you should not be afraid to use brake...in fact often times you will have to, because you will seem to be out of control without using it.
No matter how great you are in the game...you are probably still going to crash. This is an arcade racer, and its design isn't to completely penitalize you for you crashes but in some ways reward you to help you get back in the race with a free boast. This gives you a safety net to try daring drifts, race through trees and drive more radically throughout the race.
I also raced through the China level, and I was surprised how the courses ramped up in difficulty. This game is definately going to have some replay value as the courses can be brutal, but always fun.
My original plan was to skip this game for other games, and now I want to reconsider, because I was having too much fun playing. Bottom line is IF you enjoy pure arcade racers with a slight trick type points system for depth then you will enjoy Excite Truck.
