The Wii question no one will ask...
« on: October 29, 2006, 02:29:12 PM »
I'm reorganizing my entertainment center in anticipation for Wii.

My plan is to have everything ready to go so when I get home with my Wii, I'll have it plugged in ASAP.

So, I'm left needing to know - what kind of power plug does the Wii have?  Will it be a normal plug, like the N64 and the GameCube, or will it be a boxy plug like the GBA SP, DS, NES and SNES?
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Hopefully like the one in their Japanese accessory list.  Other than that, I'm not positive, sorry.

It will either be a three prong like a computer has or a two prong like a lamp.  The Wii will have a power brick.

My best guess is that it will have a similar setup as the Gamecube, in that you have the brick and then a two pronged plug in. Heck I think the two pronged plug-in without the big fat brick attached to it has been used since the N64 days, so I doubt there will be a change now.

I don't remember where I heard this, but I am positive I read that Nintendo Wii wouldn't have a power brick that the plug would be a simple plug into the wall...but as I said, since I can't remember where I can't be absolutely positive.

I'm saying Brick because of how small it is and that the power brick is a Japanese accessories.  Also if the power was feeding right to the Wii I sure hope it has a ground.

There have been several photos of the Wii power brick... other than color, it's not a whole lot different than the GC power brick.
