How long until "Aerobics Training Wii"?
« on: October 24, 2006, 09:56:03 AM »
The DS brought in the casual gamer with promises of being smarter and sharper with brain training.

How long until we see an "Aerobics Training" game for the Wii announced?

It's pretty obvious so I'm sure some company out there is making it. Clutching a Wiimote in each hand and performing exercises while the Wii instructs you turns the system into a poor-man's personal trainer.

With accelerometers, the Wii can tell if you're not moving the Wiimotes fast enough and scold you accordingly.

Only question is, will they get Richard Simmons to star in the game? :-P

If only the Virtual Console supported the Power Pad.

I totally had that game.

My sisters got it!

Brain Age has spawned several imitators, especially in Japan (I read about one just today on GoNintendo about one that asks you to use your non-dominant hand...that's kind of neat, I guess).

So if Wii Sports is a hit (but how can you tell since it comes with every Wii sold (except in Japan)?) then perhaps there will be a variety of other physical games for the Wii.  Sports, exercise, aerobics, dance, yoga, Tai Chi, pilates, gymnastics, contortionism, kama sutra...

EDIT: I think I misspelled "kama sutra"...

Well, I suppose you might assume that Wii Sports is a hit if the console sells through the roof, but doesn't have a high attach rate of games.
That's my opinion, not yours.

It was Brain Age/Nintendogs which really got the DS sales moving.

I think Wiirobics could do the same for the Wii.

What's that "Health Pack" game that Miyamoto announced? Is it even a game? Maybe that's something along the lines of this idea..

I could see a re-release of Yourself! Fitness for the Wii, with some modifications to detect proper motions with the Wii controller. But a Nintendo made Wii Fitness game is probably a good idea on Nintendo's part.
