Topic: Pokemon XD questions

I own Pokemon Colloseum and am pretty underwhelmed with the options in the actual Colloseum mode. No more rental Pokemon? Without a GBA you can't really do much, not even play two player. What I liked about the Stadium games was that you could just jump in and pick any Pokemon from a list and just battle, but this has been severely toned down. The "battle now" option only has about 5 different preset sets of Pokemon to choose from and is only 1 player.

I do have my own Pokemon on my GBA cartridges to use for the challenges, which is fun, but overall the mode is missing a lot. There's only so many times I can beat those same trainers over and over.

I've never played XD but i'm wondering if anyone can tell me if the "stadium" mode of the game has been upgraded from Pokemon Colloseum. Would I still need two GBAs plugged in to play a 2 player match? Is there more options, are any of my points made here addressed etc.?

PS I dont care about the main RPG mode, just the stadium part.

You can play a two player match in XD without GBA's (even with only one GC controller), however it is a very simple 2 pokemon v 2 pokemon battle. The pokemon you are given is random based on an initial choice of pokemon 'strength'. Four options level 5/30/50/100. For example I choose 'ultimate' and it was Blissey/ Deoxys v Entei / Mewtwo. So to answer your above questions, its pretty limited and probably not worth a purchase if two player non GBA enhanced matches are your main reason.

Thanks, that's a step up from Colloseum but I don't think i'll buy it. I'm hoping that Pokemon Battle Revolution gives me what I want
