Resident Evil 10th Anniversary
« on: October 02, 2006, 10:06:39 PM »
Looks like the GC will be getting one more game, or should I say games. It looks like Capcom, through EBgames and Gamestop are going to have an exclusive RE Anniversary collection that comes with Resident Evil (the remake), Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 4 (to bad there is no RE2 or 3!). The collection will retail for 39.99.

Shame everyone and their uncle likely has one or two of those (or all three in my case)... still, should be great for any Wii adopters who never had a Gamecube.

I might be interested in it.  I don't like to be scared, so I've never played any survival horror games.  This series gets so much raving that I'm sometimes tempted, especially since I'd like to see just how pretty RE4 really is.

they should've gone all the way and include RE2, RE3 and RECVX as well....(I mean, 10th anniversary and it's just a repack? at least make it complete....)

I don't have any of the RE games but I'm interested in RE4.  Maybe I should get this just to get them all in a big blob.

bah, I have zero and 4 already ¬_¬ and I really wanted to try the REmake, is the only Im missing (RE2 and 3 don't count for being direct ports which retailed at full prize :P, Ill never buy them for that reason)

Don't give it a second thought, this is worth it for the REmake and RE4 alone if you have never owned a Resident Evil before (0 is okay, but wasn't my cup of tea with the swapping getting annoying).

I think Capcom made a good call here. 40 bucks for those 3 games is a great deal and anyone who doesn't have them needs to take the plunge and grab these up. Too bad I spent $50 on every one of them when they came out

The series is not exactly my cup of tea, but if that bundle comes to Canada, and is under $50, I might finally take the plunge.
That's my opinion, not yours.

REmake is indeed an excellent game, but mang - I really wanted Code Veronica! That's my favorite apart from RE4. Also, replaying 2 and playing 3 for the first time would be tres excellent.

I am not sure if I am getting it, I already have RE4 and RE0, then again I am a sucker for shiney collector editions of things so I may not be able to help myself!

I agree this deal could've been sweetened with the inclusion of 2,3 and CV, guess Capcom just wanted the Cube exclusives in one pack. Maybe they are just going to be bastards and release another pack (RE Classic Collection) with 2, 3 and CV and cash in further on RE.

That would be awesome.  I missed those three.

Do yourself a favor and pick up 3.  It's by far the best of the old-style RE games (i.e. all the ones before 4).  It's the only one that I found to be genuinely scary - when Nemesis is chasing you your heart just starts pumping.

It also has the most focused - and least ridiculous - plot of the series.

No tin or booklet, seems like. Shame, I don't know if I'll get it. I rented REmake once, but couldn't wrap my head around the controls...

I'll have to second hudsonhawk about RE3.
It is the best of the original PSX games by far.

The battle between Jill and Nemesis is downright personal at the end of the game.

Ah man.  What's with the yellow strips?  Who wants a box set with "Player's Choice" pastered on the side?  F*ck it.  If I wanted RE4 with sh!tty packaging I could have already bought it instead of waiting for a used copy of the regular packaging to show up.

It still is a good deal for new games but I wager I could find all three of those games used with good packaging for the same price.

"Dude (Ian)....are you THAT insecure?!"

It's not insecurity, it's just personal preference.  Practically nobody sees my Cube collection.  But I do and I don't like seeing ugly Player's Choice games sticking out like a sore thumb.  So far I don't have any and I would like to keep it that way.

Don't worry Ian, I'm the same way.  The yellow spines on Soul Caliber 2 and Sonic Mega Collection shame myself and my family.

I'm not crazy about the yellow spines, but I might buy this package anyway.  I don't get why they had to make the box itself have the yellow stripe.
