Mii Shooter
« on: September 15, 2006, 08:08:02 AM »
After seeing the Mii character creator, I must say this concept would be the best concept ever.

The first company that uses the Mii models for characters in a first person shooter of any kind, wins my money.

Imagine being able to create your character and play online.  Guns can float in people hands like Tennis racks do...and the best part is everyone will know who they are.

But the idea becomes bigger than that.  Say you created 25-100 Mii characters on your system.  They can actually pull those characters into the single player game as villians and such.  So walking around you happen to be surprised that the boss of level one is you Mom!!!  OOPS, I guess you should have done your homework.

If Nintendo wanted to do this game, they wouldn't have to make it violent.  It could be backyard war, or Backyard paintball.

Better yet, remember my idea about the FPS in the Nintendo universe, these graphics although simple, would work in a colorful action shooter like that.  And would bring you further into the game.

Who is with me on this one?

Dude, thats a pretty cool idea I like it. The Mii characters are cool, they have character. People are complaining that there is no face mapping, but I don't like that as much. The Mii's are like a cool little digital represntation of yourself. I like the idea Spak maybe Nintendo has some similar idea on the back burner, theyd have my money no doubt.

Was this a positive or negative remark?

I still think it is brilliant.  Nintendo could even offer special downloads of Reggie and Nintendo crew.

No, YOUR MOM.  LOL.

When I first read that I thought you meant the final boss.  That would be funny.

Incidentally, my mom's name when anagrammed comes out to "Urban Legend".  No joke.  That would be neat if she was a boss.

These Miis are neat, I almost wonder if I'll end up wasting time just making a whole bunch just because I can.  The fact that they can be used in games makes it even more awesome.

Too bad they don't have a few more details like clothes, though.  If I try to remake Ada Wong - without a dress! - she might just look like any other Asian woman (without a dress).

There are obivous limitations to the system...but I would want this game to be simple...like the Wii Sports games.  Perhaps just run and shoot. gameplay.

My name anagrams to Brave screwed, mad joke.  How odd.  I'm not quite sure what to make of that.

Didn't Brenda teach you not to give out personal information to strangers on the Internet?  (just a guess and a joke, of course)

I predict that on launch day, I will waste all of my time playing around with the Miis and lose my opportunity to get deeply involved with Zelda until the next weekend.  Oh, and I vote for Wii Sports Paintball with a level editor.  Guaranteed hit.

A Mii Sims game would be great.  Create a City, populate it.

A Theme Park thing would be cool.

Basically the maker of any Sims game should just use the Mii characters for in game characters.

I think Mii will represent us in Animal crossing . . . .

Animal crossing would work well with it, maby even A mario sports game (didn't mario golf have human characters?)

See THIS kind of things is what the $250 is paying for, and people wouldn't be able to fully expereance it if it didn't come with Wii sports.

I can't believe no one has mentioned it, one Mii (most likely your own Mii) to be playable in SSBB.

Caliban and SSBB FTW!

I hope Animal Crossings multiplayer has common areas where everyone's Mii can mingle and collect stuff and have events etc etc. It was definitely something I wanted in the DS version. Animal Crossing has huge potential especially with the incorporation of this Mii stuff. I really hope Nintendo takes use of whats on the table.

Dirk:  Yeah it would remind me of Faceball 2000, except much cooler.  Simple game that has an addictive charm and gameplay.

As for Mii characters available in SSBB, I love that idea, but truly how feasable is that idea?

All a Mii is is a face, shirt color, height and width. Easy to just copy paste those attributes to a universal polygon-esque character... OMG! Polygon characters will be replaced! Or... Polygons will have a brutal showdown against Miis!

and sadly thats why the gameboy camera face mapping was never used in PD ::sad::

yet since his is a caricature and not an actual photo that was face mapped, there must be some sort of legal loop hole that makes it okay

Wasn't there some rule on Star Trek against recreating people on the holodeck without their permission? Have we not learned from history?
