No way, they will at least show the chip to everyone and say "Stay tuned until October 28th when we reveal more of what Wii and this little chip can do!"

Confirmation that Nintendo uses FedEx.  News indeed.  Actually I was wondering if there is a place actually assembling Wii's here in the States.  I mean all that shipping just to ship it back sounds silly and costly.  I mean that's pretty centralized between Europe and Japan.  Well more so then Japan is to Europe and the United States.

So... What happens if they don't reveal price and launch date? Do we riot in the streets?

There aren't know crazy Nintendo fans to even attract the media with a street riot...besides real rioters may get offended and beat us down because of our horrible performance.

When does the event in japan start for EST? I want to know what time i have to start checking PGC every 2 minutes for news.
Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

The way I see it, Nintendo must know that they can't hold the information any longer and they MUST spill the beans, especially with the launch near. If they keep holding the launch details back it will be a VERY stupid move.

We won't riot.  We will make pinpoint precision hits on Nintendo until the information is ares.

Iwata:  Where is my Stapler?
Iwata:  Hey their is a note.
Note:  If you want to see you stapler again release Wii game details.  This is only the beginning.
Iwata:  But that was my rare limitted Mario Vs Brain Training Edition stapler.

Information Get.  Stapler Returned.

There is no exact time for the Japanese event yet I think, which is the first one. All that's known is Thursday. A fair guess would be between 10am and 2pm Japan time. For the US that would be sometime around Wednesday night.

They have a packaging plant in North Bend (WA) so I'm guessing they also have an assembling plant nearby or in the same plant altogether.

Btw, I've been reading on the IGNinsider Wii forums, about this guy that posted something about that plant posting a job offer for 100 or so people to package the Wii, $11 per hour, several people even found links of proof of these job offers. Alot of speculation is being made that we will see an early release, but not so early as October 2nd, I'm guessing for a early November release if not late October then.

You know, I haven't heard them officially say that they will announce the date and price....so maybe they won't.

You'd think that with all this Wii hype and everyone expecting them to say the date and price now, they would call it "The Nintendo Wii Relase Date and Price Revelation Press Conference" to hype it up a bit more, if they're going to reveal such details.

Then again, maybe they could be revealing a lot more than just a release date and price...  o_0

They should call it "The Nintendo Wii Release Date and Price Press Conference Revelation Press Conference" and, on Thursday, simply announce when they're going to announce the exact release date and price.

No offence to PGC, but I expect things to go something like this:

-Japanese price and launch date announced.
-five hours pass with no update to the main site.
-PGC puts up a press release.

Oh, but you probably meant the forums.

I've heard of European and Australian prices (of games, consoles, and related things) sometimes being higher than North American prices (after conversion).

Of course, my memory could be wrong, but aren't Japanese prices, after conversion, much closer to American/Canadian prices (at least closer than European and Australian prices are)?

So this may be stating the obvious, but the Japanese price, if revealed before the North American price, would lead us to some very close estimates.

I seem to remember the GameCube was cheaper here in Canada when it first came out (at least in some places), even including the 7% GST at the time.  Now our GST is 6%, and the dollar is something like 0.90 US, or at least closer than it was in 2001, so if it turns out to be $149.99 US, for example, they may make it $149.99 Canadian instead of $167.67.  Then again they may more likely make it $174.99 Canadian, which would be more...but not by much...but still...

I think the Japanese price is generally a little lower.

Can we introduce a policy of starting a new thread when an event actually happens? It's annoying having to sift through pages upon pages of people "anticipating" the event.

You just say that because you have animated gifs disabled.

Anyway, Donut could just add "real discussion starts on page ..." to the topic title...

"One Piece at a Time" is a classic Country song by Johnny Cash.  The story is that, while working at a factory assembling Cadillacs, "he" (not Johnny Cash, but the person in the song) got the idea to steal him a Cadillac - one piece at a time - and put it together at his home, getting himself a free Cadillac.

The reference was that someone should get hired on for this job and steal them a Wii, one piece at a time, from the factory.
