MCV: Sony must take Action

Quote

There’s no doubt that EA has historically bet more on PSP. I think we were excited by the technology, but the consumers have proven that actually what they want is fun. We must never forget that what we need to focus on is fun and so EA is putting more effort behind DS games – and creative ones that really take advantage of the hardware.

Another blow to the PSP and another bump up for the DS!

LOLapalooza!!  I like how he implies that PSP simply isn't fun.  And implicates EA as a partner in crime in making un-fun products.
That's my opinion, not yours.

PSP has only recently been overtaken by DS in terms of hardware sales (MCV 07/07)

He means the USA, so apart from the initial DS lead he is correct. Japan is of course all DS, but maybe EA games dont sell that great in Japan anyhow so that market was not as much of a concern. Europe and Australia are much more into DS.

I think the trend in the DS os somewhat influencing them on Wii development, they dont (ie cant afford) to be left on the backburner again. But although I dont mind some EA games, I'm not sure they have the ability/staff to be creative due to just doing too many sequals, which is what is required for DS games. I hope they prove me wrong.

Will Wii Win?

At one point in type back in the day EA wasn't a bad publisher and not the sports giant they are today.  Shame... The gobbled some good developers... Well sort of...

Oh. My. God. EA has finally figured out that people like fun games. Does this mean EA will actually make some fun games?
