IGN has two pics and they are linked to in the Ubisoft has 7 games thread.
I would link you to them but I'm preoccupied right now.

I saw the pictures earlier today, and like most others, I thought the characters looked great and the environments looked awful.  But if this is basically the same mediocre (even for Rampage) game that was released on GameCube last month, what difference does it make?  It could be the best-looking game on the system and it still wouldn't be worth buying.

Silly monkeys; give them thumbs they make a club and beat their brother down. How they survive so misguided is a mystery. Repugnant is a creature who would squander the ability to lift an a eye to heaven conscious of his fleeting time here.

"Swing the wii-mote up to punch"

No, never mind.  That's far too much effort for the design team of a Rampage game.

Wow, does the game have to look that terrible?  But regardless, I've never really been into Rampage; the gameplay is extremely redundant...

It's hard to believe the character models could look so good, and the environments could look so awful.  Think the fuglitude could relate more to the game's incomplete status rather than laziness?

I swore off Rampage games since the NES when after HOURS UPON HOURS of the SAME DAMN REPETITIVE THING all you got was a "Congratulations" screen for a finish.

Nice car models, by the way. OMGWHONEEDSHDTV? Textures am suck.
"wow."

It's probably due to the half-complete status, like RNW is suggesting, but if so they shouldn't have released screens yet.

The models look excellent, the background look aweful. The cars look like they were ripped straight from an N64 game.

I guess it's better to have more Wii games than less, but Midway is notorious for (sloppily) porting games all across every platform at times of generation transition. For example, Mortal Kombat II is on SNES, Genesis, 32X, Saturn, Game Gear, Game Boy, and the Playstation version got cancelled.

They did abandon Gmecube, but then again who didn't?

Actually, I thought that the ports of MKII were actually quite decent for each respective platform, the SNES in particular.
As far as Rampage, I really find it hard to imagine that Midway would spend so much effort on some nice looking player models, complete with specular and bump mapping, and leave the rest of the game's assets untouched. As it is, the game looks terrible with the stark contrast in quality.

I remember I liked Rampage for the N64. I liked it in 2D but I don't know how this game will turn out.... not getting my hopes up.

The 32X port was very sloppy. The Saturn one was pretty much arcade-perfect but brought along some different issues. I've never played the SNES version but the Genesis one works for that console being so underpowered. The handheld versions were bad.

o lawd is dat sum N64?

But seriously. What's with the backgrounds and the cars and stuff? They really look like they're out of an N64 game.
