Wii key to success: The Artists' Choice
« on: August 02, 2006, 03:26:10 PM »
I'll spare you many words. The detail and style that is deliberately injected into most Nintendo products has always appealed to me. They really exert an artists' touch on the things they sell, so much so that it has occasionally caused them to make irrational decisions from a business standpoint. Their commitment to artistic innovation spawned all sorts of cool features on their systems, which in turn attracted some really wacky (yet creative) game developers.

Being an artist in my own right has made appreciate those things even more. I have mounting evidence that other artists feel similarly enthusiastic about Wii (and ALL things Nintendo, really).

Below you'll find a thread I posted on an avant-garde musicians forum. The thread has recently been revived (by me) and my musical compatriots prove themselves to be quite knowledgeable about videogames. Basically, all except one wants a Wii BADLY.

Read for yourselves H E R E
..:    I just noticed WTF is FTW backwords. Sometimes when you think things are going bad, they suddenly turn around. Much like this thread. For the win.  :.   MJRx9000

Their reactions are great; it's amazing to see how word of the Wii has spread, sometimes to places that we would never imagine.. I found a funny quote in the topic, probably by the "except one" guy.

Quote

If it wasn't for pokemon, they would have gone bust years ago.
"I used to sell furniture for a living. The trouble was, it was my own."
---------------------------------------------
"If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either."
----------------------------
"If it weren't for electricity we'd all be watching television by the candlelig

<----- Musician. Excited about Wii. Also owns Electroplankton. Artists are a predictable bunch in the end.
