I saw PlanetGameCube!
« on: May 14, 2006, 07:23:07 PM »
I saw PlanetGameCube at the media center at E3, but because I was attending E3 under the wings of another site, I decided it would be bad karma to say hi.  BTW, I don't know anyone on PGC since I'm a loser.

His name was Ethan or Evan or something.  I cut in front of him to play the Virtual Console...boowhahaha!!

That would be our friend Evan Burchfield.  He owes you a sharp kick to the groin.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Wouldn't that be "you owe him"?

No.  Ben cut in front of Evan to play Wii.  According to my rule book Evan gets to kick Ben.

Hey man, he was there doing something that was holding up the line [probably reporting, as was I] so I deserved cutsies.  Oh well it's the past now.  If he wants to kick me in the groin, he can do it next year

Next time, maybe I'll say hi or something, not like I'm important though

Yeah, but you said "[Evan] owes [Sgt] a sharp kick to the groin" whereas it is Sgt who owes Evan the opportunity for Evan to kick him in the groin. When you use "owe" it's usually to repay someone for something you have taken. In this case, Sgt stole Evan's spot, so he owes Evan something, a kick to his groin. Yeah..

shutup, it made more sense earlier

Vudu made perfect sense in his first post. It was clear that "He" was in reference to Evan, and that "You" was in reference to SgtShivers...

If this was an attempt to be a grammar nazi with "owe", then it hath "failed"...

....but it has nothing to do with cutting in line.
