Now Sony Agrees: Everyone is Buying Wii

Peter Moore said it first, now Phil Harrison agrees!

Quote

“I think Peter Moore is exactly right. I think Nintendo will be the second system consumers purchase after PlayStation 3.â€

Do they really not see it as competing? Because if so they're in big trouble.

lol....between MS and Sony both announcing Nintendo is the system to own, Nintendo may just be number 1 again.

To some extent I think they're right.

There's a market for high end graphics and a more traditional play style, and I think they're competing with Microsoft for that market. The problem is, that market has been stagnating in the US, and downright shrinking in Japan, and with the Wii as an alternative, that problem is only going to get worse.

Microsoft and Sony are fighting harder and harder and spending more and more for slices of an ever shrinking pie. To make matters worse, they both recognize that even their core audience are very likely to be buying Wiis eventually, which means for all intents and purposes they're still competing with it for the entertainment dollars of people who've already bought their system.

My personal prediction: Microsoft will get 55% and Sony will get 45% worldwide of the "console" market. But that this market will be only about 3/4 of the size that it was this generation. Wii's market will encompass about 40-50% of the "console" market, plus a whole 'nother market of casual gamers and non gamers... the size of which is hard to predict right now. It could be astronomical.

I'm not sure your going to get Unique users from the Wii.  Let me explain.  The Wii is more like a disease spread by contact and PS2 and 360 are more like an Airborne virus.  They are always there.  With the Wii more then likely a purchase will be facilitated by some indepth try out.  If you are thinking about getting into the gaming arena then you'll consider a more traditional console.  If you are going in by introduction you'll go with what you are introduced through.  I beleive that word of mouth can help the Wii but its going to be through experience that it will spread.  Personal experience.  Initially that will mean playing with a gamer.

Example:
Lets say we all had a boyfriend or girlfriend.  Doesn't play games.  Lets also say that they live with you.  You get your Wii, if your hear your getting one, start to play.  You want to play with someone else so you get you significant other to play some games with you.  They actually get the hang of it and actually enjoy it.  Now they have there friends over to hang out and they need something to do.  Remembering how easy it was for them to pick up they introduce there friends to it.  There friends find it appealing and decide they like one of there own after some consideration. The price was justifiable.  Repeat till assimilation.

Someone watching isn't going to want it like with a traditional console.  Yep I must be getting old...

HOLD IT!

(phoenix wright music begins playing in the background)

"lived with your girlfriend for 8 months"?!

Your honor, in his prior testamony Mr. ThePerm claimed to be and I quote,"a 22 year old virgin."

(Edgeworth looks stunned, obligatory slashing noise is made)

Are we expected to believe that Mr. ThePerm has had a live-in girlfriend for 8 months and yet remains a virgin?

(Judge looks stunned, audience starts mumbling to itself, gavel bangs)

(wagging my finger and smirking)

How about it... Mr. ThePerm? Care to explain the contradiction?

I already posted this yesterday......

Microsoft & Sony promote Wii as a "perfect" 2nd system

And maybe she wasn't really ThePerm's gf, maybe she was just a female room mate that ThePerm kept trying to crawl into bed with and peek on in the shower.... Thats why she actually moved out...

or maybe he was just lying about being a virgin

Hahaha, I was thinking the same thing after I read Perm's post. Explain yourself mister Perm.

When I get my Wii, I plan on taking it to work and back to my parent's house to show everyone how awesome it is. I'm sure Nintendo will be promoting this thing hands on as much as possible as well.

my life is miserable...does that explain it? I havn't killed myself because I know Zelda is coming out, and spiderman 3 is coming out. As long as there are things to experience that'll keep me going. Honestly, she won't put out. I've gotten over it, i just hope I don't end up being a 40 year old virgin. She moves out in like 3 hours.

Have you tried myspace? I hear that if you can't get laid using myspace then you truly are a hopeless cause and must resort to payment for pleasure or take in a mail-order bride. Those last two are desperate last resorts though, with mail-order also being pathetic, IMHO.

But isn't myspace getting restricted or closed down by the government, which is a crock.  So ThePerm it looks like the Mail Order Bride is the only way.

Just look at it this way.  I had a friend who was once so into this one girl but she slept with everyone but him.  Even when they were dating for a while.  Or better yet my Fiance had a friend who totally controlled this guys life.  Does this for over 4 years.  Turns around and loses her virginity to some random stranger.  Things could be worse.

Now what where we talking about again?

Oh yeah. The Wii will deliver all into the holy light that only the assimilation can bring.  Those officers are already part of WiiConnect24 and are loyally spreading the propaganda of Nintendo and the will of the Wii.  Glory be to Nintendo and long live the Wii.

*Pats Perm on back*

It'll get better. We'll have the Wii .

I'm a bit surprised at Sony and Microsoft's comments, but I have more and more confidence that they're right on. Nobody's going to own both a PS3 and a 360: it'll be a Wii and one of the others. (Or, like in my case, just a Wii.) Even my sister wants to play a Wii, and she's about as non-gamer as it gets.

Any color you like.

So according to them, all 360 owners will own a Wii, and all PS3 owners will own a Wii. And then there will be people who just own a Wii.

So does that mean that 100% of people getting into next-gen games will own a Wii? What a beautiful thought.

Don't put up with a girl who won't put out. Sounds shallow, but there's usually something wrong there. As Ceric illustrated for the class. Regular sex is in the cohabitation contract (obviously!).
