Looks interesting, but I also agree with Michael.  Give me Konga or give me death.
That's my opinion, not yours.

This looks awesome. I'm assuming it's the sequel to Jungle Beat?

Unfortunatly, it appears not to be.

While it's gonna be mega-cool, I'm sure, it appears to be some kind of Bongo-based racer... werid.

I don't know how you could say it looks awesome, the compare it to Jungle Beat. They look different and one's a racing game.

Bongo Bash = looks awesome
Jungle Beat = looks awesome

Easy comparison.

A racer? I obviously need my eyes checked. I just saw DK hitting bongos

You probably hit both drums together (or in sync) to move forward (the faster the beat the faster you go).  Hit one drum faster to turn, steer, etc.  Looks like it could be fun, but I'd be a little worried about having a bunch of tracks that are all the same because of the limited steering capabilities.

The developer, Paon, have only made one game. DK King of Swing. I haven't played that yet... it seemed to get mixed opinions, looks like a game i'd enjoy though. They are working on King of Swing DS and this game now. We could have a new promising developer on our hands here, if this game turns out good.

I am very interested to see how this plays out. After playing so much Jungle Beat it felt natural to control a platformer with the bongos. I am hoping this is similar. There might be a slight learning curve but once you overcome it, awesomeness ensues.

Is this game still coming out? If so does anybody know a general release date? If Nintendo lops this title off the release list too I'll be really pissed.

Edit: Just checked on IGN and it says cancelled . I hope this isn't true and it just got moved to the Wii or something.

Hopefully if it was indeed moved to Wii, this means we could still get a future incarnation of Donkey Konga on the new console.
Jungle Beat was fun and maybe Bongo Blast will be alright but Donkey Konga will always be THE reason to own the bongos to me.

I think it was moved to the Wii. I remember reading a Wii game list in which a Donkey Kong bongo game was listed.

I think Bonga Blast was just moved to the Wii, like Super Paper Mario.

Well I guess that means it's time for the Gamecube funeral. What major releases are left, Naruto 2 and Twilight Princess? Pretty weak. You would think, due to backwards compatibility, that people would still work on a few Cube games and just put "You Can Also Play it on Your Wii!" or something to that effect, on the box.

Anyhow, you've had a good run my purple lunch box friend, I salute you. **Taps**

The sun, for sorrow, will not show his head:
Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things;
Some shall be pardon'd, and some punished:
For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Sega and her Mashiro.

Not so sure how this game will turn out (it won't be Jungle Beat quality), but hopefully this means more Bongo games in the future on Wii.

Indeed, that's one hell of an awful way to say goodbye to the poor bastard! Might as well just hurl a bag of doorknobs at the GameCube instead, it's cheaper.
