I'm about to go back to sleep, I hardly slept last night.  I've shared my thoughts.  The graphics are so so, Red Steel, Metroid, and Zelda looked nice.  I wasn't expecting to be turned off by the controls in games though.  I don't want a point and click Mario and that is what that looked like.  Zelda's delay, they left out the one single thing I wanted this 3D motion tech for; yeah, I'm really disappointed on that.

I guess I was expecting something awesome and original and industry shaking, there just wasn't that one game; just the promise that in the future the controller can still do that industry changing title.

Super Mario Galaxy = Game of the show. Holy **** I need direct feed vids of that NOW

Red Steel was also ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. How the hell did Ubisoft pull this off?

WiiSports is also going to be massive, it looked like so much fun.

What is the point of the Wii being on all the time?  I actually don't like the idea at all.  I want complete control of when I update or download things.  Otherwise some bug might kill my saves or something.  I hate sleep modes and bullsh!t like that.  I like to flick a switch and have the thing go "beeoooo!" and it's off, period.  If I have to I'll just yank the cord from the wall every time I turn it off.

All in all, awesome show. My family is going to have a crappy Christmas 'cause I have all this stuff I gotta buy now.

Mario, StarFox DS, Zelda, Red Steel, HAMMER, Excite Truck, that Weather thing.... the speaker, always on...

Far better than Sony's conference. The games LOOK good. New MATURE franchises from Nintendo AND 3rd parties.

I'm sold. The Wii is hot.

An example they gave is you can visit other peoples Animal Crossing towns whenever you want, which is actually a REALLY neat feature if you're into Animal Crossing. I can't think of much else it'd be useful for though. You really had to watch the conference to get a feel for how freaking awesome today was

doesn't take playing a game to know if it is a good idea or not, seriously, the new IPs are not interesting. i'm sure excite truck didn't cost them much to produce but that emergency game just looks like the stupidest idea for a game.

I disagree...looked like the most appealing of the new IPs in potential.  Did you see that big tidal wave coming down on the sity?  Yeah!

Overall, very good show.  Would have liked one more bomb to close it in a fit of hysteria, but they had the E3 win before they took the stage, so perhaps it's better to save some more stuff for ...maybe Space World?

Look at it this way-Nintendo spanked Sony, and DIDN'T reveal all of their info.

It can be to keep you alerted of who's on your netwrok to play online...kind of like when you have a cable modem, and you get i.m.s even when you're browser is closed.

I just watched the Red Steel trailer from IGN, and if the footage is genuine and un-doctored, that is one fine looking game.  The lighting is great, the models are weel done and feature some nice soft self-shadowing, and it seems to be downright fluid.

Here's to hoping that the sword actually tracks your motion rather than using a motion-activated canned attack.

No one has given them a reason to lay all the cards out on the table yet.

Besides Sony might try to copy it, and fail miserably, and Nintendo wants to help Sony save face

What was the big secret? Wiimote has a speaker? Your Wii will remain connected to the network all the time?
You actually expected a big secret? By this point, if there was anything major, it would definitely have leaked.

Uh-huh. Do even you believe you?

27 playable games has just pretty much annihilated my ability to nitpick. Let the whiners whine and the bitchers bitch, I was blown away. My great fear was a game drought, and that has been heartily assuaged.

How hard could it be to stop viruses when the console doesn't even have a hard drive? You figure there are no viruses for Macs, and a console is a much more controlled environment and the Wii will have a smaller install base, and I have a hard time seeing this being an issue. And the worst it could ever do is corrupt your saves and basically irritate you.

For what? Looking for that one industry-changing title? I have to agree.

I think I'd need to see more games that take advantage of the "always on" feature.
