I picked up Splinter Cell Conviction new today for essentially free ($45 return credit) because I was returning my used copy of War for Cybertron, and I noticed that Dark Void is on sale at GameStop right now NEW for $10.  I still have $5 credit left over from returning Cybertron, and I'm kind of curious about Dark Void.  I enjoyed the demo, anyway.  Has anyone actually played Dark Void and can tell me if it's even worth the $10?

Halbred seemed to like it well enough.

Today and tomorrow Toys R Us is having a deal for $50 off the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the DJ Hero bundle or Band Hero bundle. This means you can get the DJ Hero for $19.99 and Band Hero for $109.99. Also, they are having a "Buy one, get one 50% off" sale on all Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games that are priced $59.99.

For anybody who is a member of Toys R Us's free Rewards program, you can get a $25 gift card if you buy Halo: Reach at TRU tomorrow (it's in store only).

If you're not a member of that program and/or don't feel like going there, the $20 credit on Amazon is still there.

I went to grab L4D2 at that price for when the Mac version comes out, and it turns out the Mac version is out now.

AWW snap. 10.6.4 or higher. Looks like I have to bring up my time table to upgrade from 10.5.8. I might just get L4D1 just for the hell of it.

So tempting...is that deal only for today?

I bit the dust. I looked at my money and can afford it. I haven't bought any game in a while. D/Ling now but it's gonna be a while.

Toys R Us is having a two-day deal (yesterday and today, I just found out) regarding Halo: Reach. There are a couple of deals for the game (also available online):

*Get a free Xbox 360 game up to $60 when you buy the legendary edition
*Get 50% off a Xbox 360 game up to $60 when you buy the limited edition
*Get a free t-shirt when you buy the standard edition (i.e. the game by itself)

Some of the other non-amazing video game deals in this two-day event:
*$25 gift card when you buy the 120GB PlayStation 3 system
*30% off all clearance games for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox 360
*Free $30 starter kit (with stuff like car adapter, extra stylii, etc.) with purchase of a Nintendo DSi
*$10 gift card with purchase of select Littlest Pet Shop games for Nintendo DS
*Buy one, get one free for Power A Wired PS3 controller ($20)

Is there any reason to buy L4D these days?  I was under the impression that the entire L4D campaign has been recreated in L4D2.

I never bought either game, but for this price I should really get at least L4D2.

it's like an extra $3.40 for the 1st one, might as well get both together.

I know it's pocket change, but that doesn't answer the question.  If there's no reason for me to ever install the game on my computer why waste the money?

I can buy Plants vs. Zombies with that!  (I just got an iPod Touch.)

The original isn't coming to Mac, so even for $3 it wasn't worth it to me since I'd never boot into Windows to play it.

I just bought the 1st one, but haven't played it yet, and I haven't seen any official map remakes from the first game in the 2nd.
I hear they play slightly differently too. But some people prefer the 1st one and others prefer the 2nd.

But since I haven't played the 1st, I can't really answer the question for you.

I'm not sure if this counts as an "amazing" deal, but if you go to the Warrior's of Rock guitar hero bundle on Amazon there is a special offer where you can get a credit for a specially designed guitar strap which is a $29.99 value for free after you purchase the bundle.

http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hero-Warriors-Bundle-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B003N5VW92/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1286659292&sr=8-6

ETA: This offer seems to apply to the stand alone addition of the game as well, but since the bundle includes a kickass style guitar why not go for it?

Is that Canadian dollar or US? Very tempting since I am still mourning the loss of my Lite.

Canadian, though they are pretty close to par right now (Canadian dollar is worth about $0.985 US).

Also, this is at Zellers (Canadian equivalent to Target).

I got an Email from Best Buy today, and among several minor offers (like $25 for the latest Wolfenstein) was a sale for Split/Second on PS3/360 for $20 seemingly if you have a membership card.  That game was worth $60 IMO, so if you like Racing games (or even just vehicular combat) it's a steal at $20.  The offer's good until the 17th.
