All I can say is it's about time they told us the release date, though I will probably hold off on getting one untill they release more colors(hopefully red)!

Apparently you can enable the DSLite brightness settings on the DS's screens by overwriting the DS's firmare with the DSLite's firmware (which is an unauthorized procedure, and would undoubtedly void your warranty). But that drains the battery faster.

The DSLite has a bigger battery.

eh, you might be able to make the original DS brighter, but I doubt it's still on the same level.
