You know I usually buy one american football title a console cycle because I know people who like to play multiplayer. So it good to know that it will be a little different this time.

Can anyone explain to me what these "accelerometers" in the controller are? They mentioned it in the article, it was the EA guy.

And yes, I'm getting a Madden game for the 1st time, but I wouldn't get it if it wasn't for "Eyeshield 21" teaching me some basics about the game and otherwise I would have no interest in the game.

This game could either be cool or something that gets boring in 5 minutes... or suck either way because it's still another Madden.

It's expected that developers will experiment and find the right types of movements to incorporate into games. They just need to remember that the games are not about the motions. It's still a football game. If it's not engaging or too obnoxious to do simple things, then it's overkill. Just going by the interview, it sounds like it's borderline g!mmicky. I just hope they find the right balance after letting people at E3 offer them good feedback.

I won't buy it either way, I don't like football games.
"wow."

This is why I said the other day the Vice President of EA was clueless with the comments he made.  I know for a fact 5 games that take advantage of the Rev controls at just one of their studios.  I think this is the route they're taking for Bond as well.

EA is really talking a good game here.  One that would make me buy a Madden game at launch.

Still it's EA and so I'm a bit skeptical.  Are they just going to take the 'Cube version and tack on 4 controller features and updated rosters?  OR will they update the graphics a bit and tweak the AI and present a well-rounded package?

will we be able to see the ball without the game being in HD?

seriously though its good news that ea is taking their biggest title and making a version of it for wii that couldnt be done anywhere else. if it turns out good it could sell some consoles.

accelorometers.
just break down the word: accel - speed / meter - measure / oro - of
measure of speed.
acceloromers measure speed, they said it in the article, the faster you move the controller the more of a bullet pass it is.

Just take my word for it, Madden will sell more on the Rev than on the other systems next season.  So will Tiger Wood 07.  I am your virtual insider for all things EA.  I am also about to be fired.

Technically, acceleration is a change in movement. Something can be traveling at 100 MPH yet not be accelerating because its speed is constant. Though it will accelerate if the speed is constant but it goes down a curved path. And an object is accelerating if its speed drops from 100 MPH to 90 MPH. Just had to get that out. . .

I'm thinking this will be my first Madden title too. Can't wait for E3 to see how this plays.

If you want to be technical if an objects speed drops from 100 MPH to 90 MPH it is decelerating.

No, it's accellerating along a different vector.

Commonly, any acceleration that results in a negative is referred to as decelerating.

Is it Madden PS2 or PS2 Madden?
Is it Madden XBox or XBox Madden?
Will it be Madden Wii or Wii Madden? LOL @ Wii Madden. Its like an Irishman saying "Lets play with the wee Madden"

I like the fact that EA actually has a whole studio devoted to Revolution, according to a Madden article I saw today.  Good to know the company isn't going to just port games over and cram a little remote-based control in.
That's my opinion, not yours.

one can only hope. how awesome would that be? although i'm thinking that there are some lazy basttards out there who are going to complain about the physical requirements of the game. although it would also give Ninty another reason to package two controllers. i buy one, my brother buys one, and we have four controllers between us! NICE!

What the hell kind of bizarro-day is this?! Nintendo kills all of its recent momentum by renaming the Revolution the 'Wii' and Electronic F*cking Arts announces a Madden game that ACTUALLY SOUNDS DECENT? I am at a loss my friends.

Hahaha, EA has the worst timing ever. They're all "Look gamers, We got a new Madden game for Nintendo and we're actually making an effort-" And the gamers respond "SCREW THAT, HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEW NAME OF THE REV?!?!" EA is thinking "this is what I get for trying to be decent.."

I really like that EA is trying to create a new experience.  I think the Quarterback control scheme is brilliant, and so is the running game.  However, I am worried about the kicking game mechanics.

I may be interested in playing Sports games again.

Though I must admit I wish this wasn't Madden but the EA BIG Series, because I can think they will come up with a killer Control System for doing tricks in game using the Wii Remotes.
