Possible Garage Games (Large Indie Producer) Products on VC
« on: April 08, 2006, 12:42:11 PM »
GarageGames is one of the largest Indie game producers who deal in both game publishing/distribution and developer tools (the $100 Torque engine, for example). They have release the highest grossing Live Arcade game to date, Marble Blast Ultra, as well as PC games/Independant Games Festival nominees Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa, Tube Twist and 2005 Game of the Year winner Gish, among other acclaimed products.

In an interview with Little Mathematics, GG promoter Jay Moore had this to say when asked about possible Virtual Console support:

We've always said we'll be everywhere there is an opportunity to bring fun games to players with our tools and our games. I can neither confirm or deny any relationship with Nintendo or why GarageGames booth was right next to the Nintendo Gamers Lounge at GDC.

Good find.

I definitely think games you can download demos for and then buy on the Virtual Console service will be a must. There's just too much opportunity to do this for someone not to take advantage of it.

ESPECIALLY if you can also download DS content, be it official game demos or indie games which play on the DS.

When I talked to them at GDC they did say they were in talks with Nintendo and that they were progressing albiet slowly. They also added they were talking to Sony but Sony blew them off.
Stupidity is lost on my. Then again I'm almost always lost.

It's official: Sony is now what Nintendo was during the N64 generation.
