WiFi Multiplayer
« on: April 07, 2006, 09:55:59 PM »
Nintendo's Wifi Connection hasn't really been so hot so far. I've only played 4 players once with mario kart, and never 4 with MP Hunters. Why is it so? Has anybody emailed Nintendo about this and gotten a response? I just want more than 1 on 1 battles in Metroid.

MPH is still having server issues last I checked and is being worked on as we speak.  It has gotten a little bit better in that I actually do get 4 players games on with it but it's still not as perfect as it was on launch day.

I'm convinced they try to hard to make perfect matches.  They're matchmaking algorithms need to be thrown out the window.

yeah man. The algorithms.

But anyways... how come it says Global WiFi Gaming Service Fully Functional? They should stick an almost. I get disconnected a lot while searching for games. And sometimes when trying to connect to a friend. Its really stable once a game gets started though, so I'll give them that. But it still takes too long for games to get started. I wish that you could make a cut off so at least when you've found one guy, you can just start. Like if both players just wanted to start as quickly as they could without searching for more, they could press start or something. And have a thing that notifies the other player if that happens. Oh well.

Yes, random matching has its downfalls.  The friends matches in Hunters are a huge step up.

And I have only rarely had these issues with trying to get four.  I've played plenty of times with full groups.

ok well I haev been wanting MP Hunters for  while and I just have one question, is it possibel to play it with out the top screan? I cn play MK DS and Tetris Ds entirely on the bottum screan but want to know if MP can be played liek that so I can decide if I will get the game now or wait until I get around to getting my DS fixed.

You only need to look at one screen in 'Hunters'...the top screen. The bottom is for aiming, choosing morph ball and missiles and crap. It's easy to memorize where each button is on the screen so you can access what you need quickly...and it's effing awesome. I get 4 players all the time in Mario Kart (choose global or worldwide, and not at 7am).
