so does anybody goto nintendo.com

just curious how if any people here register their stuff on the official website or if everybody just hangs out over hear.

I wish we could register every game not just 1st party becfause that would help them see how many games we really buy and what games each person buys for thier market research, it looks biased when they see all the Mario, Zelda, Metroid and etc games I buy but dont know that out of the 30 + games I have for current systems that I have less than 10 Nintendo published games.

I just was curious if any body else has thought about this because Iwata mentioned that they use the registration of thier games to know what people are playing what games, so they do use it as some kind of research but I think they should include a little code for ALL games to be fair. anyone else with me?

Also just asking out of curiousity but who here spends more time HERE than over at the official site? I find it funny that I have this as my home page but I rarely visit the Nintendo site when they have a lot more to do over there. Its irionic I guess in away but It also reflects everything else, I play Nintendo games on Nintendo systems but I also play non Nintendo games SO i visit non Nintendo websites to read about Nintendo games. ok anyways thats all I had its just something that I been thining about latley.

I wish Nintendo Australia had any kind of incentive to buy PAL games, but alas...

I don't think Nintendo cares what you're playing unless it's a Nintendo game. Besides, to my knowledge, like here, Nintendo games rarely drop in price in America. While basically every third party game drops weeks after launch. Then there's those crazy sales you guys have, like $2 GBA games and stuff. You register the games for the off chance of free stuff (the Prime 2 demo, Zelda collection.. probably.. other stuff I don't know about). Nintendo sends these out because they're taken a thousand ma-jillion dollars off you and can afford to. Fill that list with Tetris Worlds and Cat in the Hat's Huge Jungle Fun Time Disco Party At The Beach games, and Nintendo won't make as much! The next day, they'll be bankrupt.

And that's the backstory of toast, the burnt survivor, hero to all.

I register my stuff when I have a reason to, like the Zelda disc or the Prime 2 demo.  Nintendo hasn't offered anything since then so I haven't bothered.  When I get home with a new game the first thing I want to do is play the game not register it.  By the time I've played for a few hours I've forgotten about registering entirely.  Next time Nintendo offers something I'll probably register several titles in a huge chunk.

I don't exactly like the idea of them monitoring my purchases anyway.

Well the only thing I ever got out of it was some cheesy downloads and a three months free trial of Nintendo power, but I moved and my mags got lost in the mail so I didnt even get to read them.

Anyways Its not as fun as Sega was, everytime you registered somethign with them you always got somethign free, a demo, a controller, a psoter, acomic book, sometimes even free games. But that could be a part of why they lost so much money back in the day.

I register stuff but that's it. The site's too slow and unresponsive to spend a lot of time at, but I don't want to miss out on any freebies either.

I go only to register my games.  But that is an adventure because 9/10 times I have to go through a whole bunch of crap just to sign in.  It tells me something is wrong and I have to sign in again, and it would be no problem, but for some reason I have a very strange user name of letters and numbers that do not form words, but nonsense.  Also I can go to the website and it says I am still logged in, but when I try and register it says something is wrong and I have to sign out and then back in again and go through hell adventure again possibly just to register and get NOTHING out of it.

Seriously I don't even see the reason for MY NINTENDO when it's useless, where is the incentive to buy games and register them, when Nintendo doesn't give anything good.  In Europe they give points you can use for neat things and I guess Japan has a similar deal, but we get nothing.  Maybe once in a blue moon something like a PINK STYLUS if you bought Kirby Canvas Curse or something, but that is so far and between that it's a joke.

I want a true incentive program Nintendo.  Give me a reason to register my games, not a possible chance for something in the furture, but something now.

If I lost my styluses a a lot, I would try to find multiple Kirby game codes to register on multiple accounts just for the stylus; but fortunately I don't, since it's like 7 bucks just for a 3-pack of those things It's been a looong 3 years since the great Zelda Collector's Disc era, they don't seem to care much anymore.
