Okay, I totally remember the first post, but who was it?  My wild guess is Wandering.

The second one...sheesh.  It sounds a wee bit like Pro, but I don't remember the post at all.

It's not wandering.  If memory serves, the post occured BW (before wandering).  However, I will say that it was posted by a still-active member of PGC forums, so don't give up yet.

As for the second post, I honestly don't remember who said that.  (Remember, I posted this way back in May.)  If someone guesses I'll look it up and see if I can find it.

The only thing covered by insurance (with a 500 dollar deductable) was the car stereo stuff because that was mounted in the car.  That equated to about a 600 dollar check for me.

I've replaced everything I lost except Pokemon Box... that stupid 'game' is all rare and overly expensive now...

OK, time for a new one... this one's a dandy (It seems difficult, but there are a few clues about where to find it in context).

You know, before I thought you were just positing the most ridiculous straw man I've ever encountered, but now I realize you really, truly believe that a negative attitude towards a console name represents a complete abhorrence of all humanity. This demonstrates two things. First, the reification of your own emotional response to a monosyllable such that anyone who does not share it must possess a set of beliefs bordering on psychosis. Second, the complete lack of what psychologists call modulation and proportion, a symptom characteristic of cult members and schizophrenics.

I was going to guess it was aimed at Smash Bro.

I'm not sure who said it.  I'll try to figure it out later today.

Ah, I was looking in the very similar thread that Smash Bro started.  I was close.

I don't think I've EVER managed to get under someone's skin like THAT... (not that I've given up trying).

Here's (at least I think) an easy one.
Quote

The first time I played A Link to the Past it was a used copy with no manual and I didn't know anything about the game except that is was supposed to be great. As a result I initially assumed that after getting the Master Sword and fighting Agahnim that the game would be over. Keep in the mind at the time I had only played action related titles so the length didn't seem too short to me. Imagine my surprise when I found out the game was not even half over and that there was a whole parallel world to see. Now that was exceptional since that was mentioned in the manual so it wouldn't have been a huge spoiler to know that ahead of time but it remains one of my most memorable game moments. Because of this I'm of the idea that manuals should be like two pages long and describe only the bare bone essentials.

That's Ian.. I think in the same thread Bill says that he knew why Link's Awakening was titled that way before he actually found out by playing it, since some magazine spoiled it for him. Can't remember which thread, though..
