I don't know if any of you have figured this out, but this thread is a piece of cake, even without a proper search function. Just go to Google and type in..

" site:planetgamecube.com/forums xxxx"

(your phrase) - you need the space before "site"

I don't think it works for every single thread, but most of them anyway. That's what I use when I want to find a thread lost in the board - very useful.

My dear gaming elite, what has transpired in my absence? Must i return to simple rhetoric and mundane 'findings', such as 'Nintendo is in trouble!' and 'What Nintendo needs is...'. Lets take a look at the not so long ago history of your favorite video game company, Nintendo. As recent as 8 human years ago, Nintendo was number 1 in the world. As recent as 20 human years ago, Nintendo saved the gaming 'religion' from extinction. The N64 was a grave mistake, if i may join the previously ridiculed 'What has Nintendo f'd up' game. Many great empires have doused themselves in a gasoline of arrogance. By believing the 'lemmings' would lap up whatever they released, they prevented themselves an opportunity to widen their dominance. In some respects, they were right. The software sales for the AAA games were better than any on another console. Sadly, they were too few or too far between. The Playstation, AKA beezlebub, beat the N64 to the punch, and with the more conveniant media , the compact disc, made the game creating process much easier for developers. The cartridge went the way of the dinosaur, blown out of the water by the new gaming gods. So, here we are. 6 years have elapsed since that fatal error, and what has Nintendo done? They have set the table for their return to dominance. By being more aggressive, Nintendo now has major developers back on the bandwagon. Maybe not completely, but thats what the 'N5' is for. The GC was the framework. The 'N5' will be the 'rapture'. With a new youthful leader now in charge, Nintendo is poised to take on the gaming world head on, with aggression, something they were missing since the NES days of old. When you are not challenged, you become complacent, content. When the star dims , thats the test of ones toughness. Nintendo is back on track, and they're looking to reclaim the lost souls of '96-2003.

Hey guys, this thread is kind of useless if no one actually guesses the poster

We have a backlog of unanswered quotes; mine (before the Odama one), vudu's, two of my other ones, and TVMan's (he should be ban'd for his ambiguous nature). Why don't we make it so that if after a week or so the quote is unanswered, the poster should tell us who it is?

Anyway, here's another one, from a poster that has been lost for a while (I often wonder what happened to him..), and it was written **don't look, as it makes finding it easier** prE3 2005 before the VC was announced

Quote

The "emulators" comment is intentionally somewhat vague. Usually, one would refer to what Nintendo is most likely to do as "middleware." That is, software that takes care of much of the heavy lifting on the programming side of things. I think, however, that putting emulators on there might be a good idea. More specifically, I think it would be advantageous for Nintendo to expand it's library as much as possible by offering emulators for NES, SNES, N64, and if they can manage to make the deals, Sega Genesis and more. Offer the ROMS electronically distributed (fully encrypted with a crucial chunk of the ROM missing - requiring a brief download from Nintendo's servers in order to play - Hell, the entirety of NES ROMs could be considered the "chunk"). The key to keeping piracy of the ROMs down would, of course, be to sell them cheap - $5, but better less. Providing people with the tools to make fun new games inexpensively is also key. I'm not talking about fully blown dev kits, but dev tools for a specialized 2D "emulator" that would make puzzle games, board games, and games like Alien Hominid easy to make - justifying selling it at $10 or less electronically

Two Game Link Cables... GONE
Four Memory Cards... GONE

On those memory cards were virtually all of my game saves... The only cards i didn't lose were my japanese card and original 59... Of all of my games, I only have saves for things like Luigi's Mansion and Monkey ball...

Hours and Hours of Smash bros. records....
Over 500 pokemon....
My initial 12 hours in ToS....
All my Mario Kart Scores...
All my F-Zero scores...

All my F-Zero scores...
etc...
etc....
etc.....
GONE!

Argh argh argh...
Sorry bout this, I had to vent somewhere... :-/

If you stole them, kindly tell me your name so I can have your ass arrested AFTER I beat the living sh*t out of you.
(Sorry about this; I hate to make you relive your pain.)

Not really. But I could see how the situation might arise. . . so to speak

Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!
