Well, to be fair though, this guy might not really be any kind of gamer at all... but.

Here's the story though. In my living room is the various Nintendo systems (I even hide my PS1 in shame - it's not out to be seen) along with other various Nintendo stuff including my Donkey Kong Card game I just got yesterday evening and my Nintendo shrine that has a lot of various Nintendo related items including a rather nice sized Mario Kart Telephone. On the TV screen was Nintendo's Super Mario World (Bright, colorful paused so I could answer the door "Donut Plains 3" screen with Mario riding Yoshi in mid-jump). Connected to my Nintendo GameCube was my SNES-ish Hori Digital Controller (man, I love this thing!). I go to get the door.

It's the bug man! He comes into my apartment While here, he trippeds over my controller cord. He says (something along the lines of) "Whoops, there went the TV remote..." *looks* "I mean XBox controller."

I remember when *all* video games were 'playing Nintendo'. When did all video games become the XBox?

*shrugs* When it comes to mass media or the casual crowd, video games still seem to be more synopsis with the Playstation name I find. The hype right now with the 360 is shifting that a little, but come the end of the year when more next generation consoles are launched I would expect that to change, unless the 360 finds a killer ap soon.

Speaking of PSP, I had three kids that came in the other day and argued with me that GTA:LCS was out for the PS2. After I explained to them (multiple times) that it was currently PSP exclusive, they said they'd just go somewhere else to get it. Good Luck.

isnt GTA:LCS just gta3 with like some changes...i mean i was playing it for the first time a week ago, and i knew where i was going!

True story, I knew a kid who thought you could get a Mario game on the Xbox. He denies it now, of course.

When halo came out.

Hey, it could happen... when rev becomes number one. They most recent mockups are showing the rev being plastered with the Nintendo logo, after all. Although they did recently remove the Nintendo logo from the DS....

Well same here - always used to be Nintendo (even SEGA at their prime didn't have the mindshare) and now it's PlayStation - Xbox hasn't reached there quite yet.

With my football coach, it's "playstations and pocket Nintendos" to which my team-mates reply, "It's all about the Xbox and/or PSP!"

Whilst I think quitely to myself, "But I love teh Nintendo. . ."

I suppose we have a thing for the past, because Ive always used the term "atari" to refer to any console as well as everyone I know, ocasionally we use "family", "super" or "play", but not as much. I didnt know the devices werer called consoles until I started posting on forums, they were always "ataris" to me.

Girl casual gamers are smart, because they go to mars to get more candy bars.

Oh, anyway, I always referred to consoles by their proper names. It was always "Wanna play some Atari 2600?" or "Let's play some Nintendo 64...get N or gert out! Ha! Ha!" with me.

...yeah, I've always been a consumer whore.

That because only people in the us like big, expense, and mindless thing that the rest of the world dosen't like and it's only playing playstation because sony went out stealing all the good 3rd party from nintendo before ps came out getting all their game without any work and must burn for it.
