Its offical the new monkey ball game is only coming to ps2 and psp, which really sucks but the fact its made by Traveller's Tales and not AV. might mean its not very polished.

I assume this falls into the plan I read about months ago of farming out Sega franchises to other devs.  I think it's total BS but the truth is Sega is DEAD.  They don't exist anymore so we might as well stop freaking out about all the stupid crap they do.  Sega is now like Atari in that it's just a name that some other company owns.

What is AV doing instead though?  Maybe Nintendo should try to raid their talent and form a new team.  There really is no point for any talented person to be working at "Sega" right now.  Doing so would probably just be depressing.  Nintendo could probably really clean up.  And they could add some fresh variety to their lineup by letting these guys cut loose and do their own thing.  Of course they would probably just use AV to make a million F-Zero sequels but I can dream.

News - New Super Monkey Ball title?
Quote

We're not quite sure of all the consoles Monkey Ball Adventures will be released on, but we can confirm it will appear on the PS2 and PSP. Given the series's track record, a GameCube release also seems likely.
Quote

Okay, the reason it's "confirmed" on PS2 is because this news piece is sourced from Official PlayStation 2 Magazine.     No-one is saying Sega are only going to release this on the PS2, or that it's a PS2 exclusive, or that they are stupid for confirming it for a system where it sold much less on. THE ARTICLE IS FROM THE OFFICIAL PS2 MAGAZINE.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

What track record? Vjoe also had a track record and they broke that....
That went from a gamecube game to a psp and ps2 exclusive, with gamecube getting a spinoff party game instead
clearly looks like they have done the same thing again

There's a DS version of Monkey Ball, remember.

Viewtiful Joe didn't go Sony. GCN and PS2 got both 1 and 2, and GCN and supposedly PSP get the fighting game. Plus the DS got its own VJ.

I'm sure it will come to GameCube in any case, but the real question is: why a platformer?  WHY?  WHY??  The game is fine the way it is.  If you want platforming AND ball-rolling, buy I-Ninja.
That's my opinion, not yours.
