Freeloader & DDR MArio mix - help wanted pls pls

I have a US gamecube and have bought a pal version of Dance Dance revolution. I have used freeloader disc v1.06b. When i insert the game disk the screen is black. Is the freeloader version out of date? do i need version 1.06B? has anyone else tried it?? can  anyone suggest anything else apart from buying anntsc version which costs loads!!!
