Slow....!!!!
« on: December 27, 2005, 06:40:40 PM »
With the MR814v2 router from Netgear, I finally got the Wi-Fi to work with my DS (after a crapload of work). The IP HAS to be static in order for it to work with this      , but my question is WHY DOES IT TAKE SO FREAKIN LONG TO FIND OTHER RACERS ON MARIO KART!!!? I have a broadband connection and once the race actually begins (if I'm lucky enough to be matched up with four players) the game works fine while in the race. No lag, no problems, it works great... and yet searching for players can take up to five minutes and it will usually only find one or two. Is this normal? Or in my case, would it work better if I just shelled out the cash and bought Nintendo's adapter thingy?

The matchmaking can be a bit slow, but it's probably not searching for just anyone out there, but people that will have the smoothest connection with you.

Don't worry about it, it's not you, it's Nintendo, currently they are having trouble adjusting to the massive server load after everyone opened their Mario Kart xmas presents, there are twice as many people playing but it's harder to find a match now for some reason, hopefully they sort it out.
