Sony has been putting spyware on music CDs and is about to be sued out of existence.

heh, I knew there was something about their products that screamed EVIL!! heh.

Does this also includ DVD's? sony always has that damn dvd player software crap on it.

Proof Microsoft is more evil:

-Windows crushing Apple
-IE crushing Netscape
-Office crushing any other productivity app out there

... if the XBox does as well as Microsoft expects it to this Generation...I'm scared for the future of gaming...

No, it's Sony's fault because they decided to use such badly thought out measures. Is it the fault of burglars that some nutjob shoots everyone in sight because he thinks someone might break into his house? And the warezers are the ones who lose nothing here because they know how to avoid these anticopy systems. Sony should have thought for two seconds before distributing a rootkit like that.

Now I'm not saying that Sony is innocent...  But if the nutjob has people breaking in to his house 24/7, coming and going as they please and taking whatever they want with little to no reasonable legal recourse for the nutjob would anyone be surprised if the nutjob did start shooting anyone who stepped on his property?

Personally, I hope that Sony does get sued and has to pay major fines.  And in return, I hope that Sony manages to go after every single person who's ever illegally downloaded even a single Sony song and sues them in order to help Sony pay their fines.

As someone involved on the business side of the music industry, I can definitely sympathize with Sony, but at the same time - realistically speaking, there isn't any viable solution to curb music piracy and there won't be one for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately, Firefox seems to have petered out at around 10-15% market penetration.

This means that all of its features will be ripe for copying by the next big IE release.

Last I heard Firefox was getting 10% of IE users every year, and still climbing.

I think MS will have a hard time copying ideas that are added all the time.

Plus, no ActiveX so I doubt MS will throw that away from their poorly done browser.

MS lost a patent violation lawsuit Eolas brought forth over ActiveX. They'll have to neuter it a bit.
