Sigma Star Saga

I bought this game without reading any reviews.  Oops!

The box has hot chicks and a kinda tough looking guy on it.  In the game, he looks pretty wimpy, but on the box he looks badass.  It also says something like "Nominee for Gamespot's Gameboy title of E3 Award".  In my dictionary, nominee is another word for LOSER.

Still, it's got hot chicks, right?  Let's pop the cartridge in...

"THE BATTLE FOR EARTH BEGINS NOW!" the game proclaims, with the same hot chick pictures appearing inside the big, capital letters.  You'd think they were the main characters of the game, but they're only kinda the main characters.

The real main character is the aforementioned guy, and his name is Ian Recker.  Like I said, he looks kinda wimpy in the game. He's an andogynous anime character.  Anyway, if you press start, you'll jump in the cockpit (LOL) and fly his ship into battle!  You'll get blown up many, many times but that's okay because his ship has lots of HP.  It's kind of weird at first, but not that bad.

After the first battle our hero gets caught up in a web of intrigue and interspecies smooching.  He needs to save the earth from the Aliens' SUPERweapon.  The rest of the game is filled with lots of shooter sections which are way to repetitive, although you do get to fly like eight different cool-looking ships.

They have all-new hot chick footage of the hot chicks on the box when you meet them for the first time, and the ending includes some additional hot chick footage of that one hot chick.  I'd say they're one of the games biggest redeeming qualities.

Besides that, it also has nice graphics and music, which only helps to underscore the hotness of the chicks when they're onscreen.  The story isn't bad either, and the exploring parts of the game are pretty fun until you get sucked into a random battle that you've already played 10 times.

I kinda recommend this game to RPG lovers, NOT to shooter lovers.  Read the Light World Review if you really care.

Hot Chicks: 9.0 (Just needs more full-screen pics)
Wimpy, Badass, Androgynous hero: 7.0 (Not too brooding, but he does have a lot of attitude)
Final Boss: 8.333333... (His name is TYRANNICAL OVERLORD)
Fun: 5.0 - 8.1 (Depends on what part of the game you're on)
That's my opinion, not yours.
Now Playing: The Adventures of Link, Super Street Fighter 4, Dragon Quest IX
