Yeah, I heard yesterday.
I'm hoping HBO or someone will pick it up.  It's really such a great show, it shouldn't be passed up.
Damn Fox.

From one of my friends:

Quote

Arrested Development is quite possibly the funniest show on Television. If you have never seen it I recommend that you go out and buy season one and two on DVD.

I found a phone number for EVERYONE TO CALL!

800-369-6848
Hit the number 2 then dial "Liguori" followed by #.

When you leave a message, be nice, and tell Fox how much you love the show. Please post this on all of your blog sites. We need to save this show. Viewers have saved this show before by taking this kind of action, so there is hope.

Also write in to askfox@foxinc.com with the subject header SAVE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. I am going write an email from every one of my email addresses.

I'm as sad as anyone over this, but you cannot blame Fox. The show has gone down since Season 1 and it had bad ratings back then. They've tried everything to get people to watch, but no one is. This is the fault of Fox, it's the fault of television viewers.

Oh, damn. This just killed my day. Hopefully another network picks it up... I don't have HBO and I won't get it even if AD goes there. And if it does go there, the DVD sets will be A LOT more expensive, so either way it's bad.

It was almost inevitable, but after the deal got sorted it out before this season, I thought it would be around for a while still.

I guess bad things really do happen to good people.

Fox seems to always do this...  Anytime a show is moved it seldom does as well.  Dark Angel, Titus, Boston Public, etc... etc.. etc...

Coming from anybody but you two, what you said would actually be offensive. I rest easy in the knowledge that people who don't like AD do in fact tend to be like stevey.

Arrested Development > Futurama.

Futurama is just another slew of old Simpsons jokes in a new setting.

There is a slight chance of the show still making it.  From what I read Fox, (so far all they are doing)  isn't ordering a full season.  Season 2 wasn't a full season either.  Season 1 = 22 episodes, Season 2 = 18 episodes.  I know I am being optimistic, but I can always hope.

Boo.

Futurama was good, but now that it's come to an end, I kind of want it to stay that way.  I thought they finished it up nicely before it could wear out its welcome.  Arrested Development, I think it could have a good few seasons ahead of it without losing its touch.
That's my opinion, not yours.

The problem with Arrested Development was it was too intelligent and quirky for the viewing public, people want more survivors and CSI's, not intelligent and quirky.

As for Futurama if they were going to ressurect it I'd rather they put it on Cartoon Network's Adult swim, rather than Fox.

The problem is Fox has a bad habit of killing good shows. They've been pissing me off since Brisco. AD is great but I've only seen a few episodes. I generally don't watch TV much at all though. Eh. Damn Fox.

Fox is just doing what any network would do.  Lots of critically acclaimed shows like My So Called Life and Joan of Arcadia get canned because they don't have enough viewers.  It sucks.  What really bugs me is how Fox moved the show to Mondays and then pre-empted it with sports for several weeks in October.  Oh gee, why doesn't anyone watch it?

Yep its the usual Fox hatchet-job act - once a program breaches a certain threshold, it is left to rot on some less than stellar timeslot. To be fair, the ratings were never good...but who needs to be fair? This is Fox we're talking about.
