recent 1up special 1up brings up 23 odd similarities between the 360 and the Dreamcast.
I usually relate the 360 to the Saturn as the selling point for both consoles is increase in resolution. The Saturn was built for 2D games; the competition's consoles were built for 3D graphics and physics. The Saturn did nothing more than increase the number of pixels on screen.
Resolution matters little to me as I can't afford a three thousand dollar screen right now. I'm more worried about paying rent and buying my books for class.
Like the Saturn the 360 features a controller that is good at controlling games from the previous generation, but it lacks any next generation qualities. The Revolution is like the N64 which shipped with an analog stick on the controller. The Revolution's new 3D control mechanic will become the new standard and in five years Sony will answer the only way they know how by offering dual remotes.
I posted this on 1up.com, it went for seven pages before it died. I know its kinda preaching to the choir to show you guys the article, but you may find the similarities they point out to be interesting.
