I've heard some negative impressions and don't want to waste $20 if that can go toward another game, like FF:CC. Has anyone played it (Sphinx)?

I remember Grey comparing it to SFA: a boring unintuitve collection fest. But there were also a few other people around here who seemed to really like it. Try before you buy, I guess.

I dont trust IGN reviews as much anymore, i go to gamespot.com they have video reviews for free, and i usually like what they like, and also what they hate; so that is where i go for reviews.

I don't trust one source anymore, because opinions have changed greatly over the last generation or two of games. I use GameRankings to see the average opinion of a game. I also don't trust certain big sites anymore, because they seem to be biased towards getting traffic and drawing a crowd than actual reviews, but meh.

The thing with the crowd reviews is that there could be the extreme.  One kid who can basically know that he/she will probably hate game reviews it and give it scores that anyone can find ridiculous.  I don't like sports games but that doesn't mean you will see me playing them and then giving them bad scores.  I wouldn't know what a good sports games is because I don't give a damn.

Yeah I can hear bad things about a game and then I see the $20 price tag and still think, "Why not?"  A developer can sometimes know the game won't be all that and just decide to release the game starting a $20.  With that in mind I'd still try to atleast get it because then I somewhat know that the game is deserving of $20 at first.

Ocarina: Available, easy to find, costing 50 Euros. I'd grab it for 20 or 30 immediately, but 50 for a shoot'em'up is something to think about first.

Just so you guys know... Doom 3 will Not come out for PS2 OR Xbox.  If it does, it will suck horrendously.  Doom 3's minimum requirements (for smooth play) for PC will be like a Radeon 9700, 2GHz, 512mb DDR... that hardware literally blows away PS2 and XBOX hardware.  They will have to dumb it down sooo much that it will suck (just like Halo).

I have a Gamecube because I am also a PC gamer and if I wanna play Shooters, GTA type games, or Online games, I will play it ONLINE on my PC.  I have a Gamecube because it is great for cartoonish type FUN games.

Ok...  Now that we have that outta the way:

I recommend Tony Hawk Underground and Mario Party 5.

Please don't bring your gamecube fanboyism into this thread, it is unwanted .

That said, THUG and MP5 are good games .

.....Not anymore...

You should've been paying attention to the "Amazing Deals" thread.

At different points, they had free overnight shipping, free 2-day shipping (a couple days ago), and ages ago they had free overnight shipping plus a *kawaii* stuffed cow.

If you don't pay attention to it, you'll regret it.

Hm, I'm still undecided: Get Gotcha Force now (and CR later) or wait for Custom Robo?

Well supposedly Gotcha Force has been discontinued, so you might want to pick it up now as it will soon be very rare. I own it, but haven't played it long enough to know whether it's worth keeping.

I'm a little late, but I'd say you should get Goblin Commander.  It is a great RTS, and has two player games along with the single player campaign.

KDR, supposedly in the short time it was selling it got extremely low sales and that it wouldn't be cost-effective to continue producing it...but that's just from my memory so it could be wrong. Gotcha Force was released at least 2 weeks ago, at least where I live.

Oh and I love all the people giving game suggestions to the original poster, who posted months ago .

It came out last Friday over here. Maybe I'll grab it, seems like the kind of game I'd like (lotsa STUFF!). Now if the day just had 48 hours I could allocate time to GF and X2...

EDIT: Scratch that, I just got Ikaruga for 30, last one in store. No Gotcha Force for me, at least not now.

Good choice, Ikaruga rocks. The best way to play is with the Hori controller though ($20 at liksang.com).

Naah, I have no problems with navigating with the a stick. It's enough for going opposite color on the first boss, so it should suffice for most bullet hells. Also I found Ikaruga to be the second hardest shmup I've ever played. It's a LOT easier than Radio Zonde, though. Zonde is just f###ing impossible.

O.K people I need major help.

My mum is coming to America soon and I want her to buy me a game that is not released here or very hard to find in Aus.

So I am thinking either Skies of Arcadia or Ikaruga.

My only problem is how easy/hard are they to find in the US ?

Because my mum really wouldnt go out of her way to get me a game , she will probaly walk in ask and thats it.

My mum barley knows proper english ...so I need to know how much trouble would it be ?

Also any other games you people would reccomend ?

Have you tried importers? The weak dollar makes them almost cheaper than local stores.

Though I've never played it, I've heard that Paper Mario is a very good game. It's quite hard to find. If you've seen a copy 2nd hand near you, I'd suggest you pick it up. Even if you don't like it, you'll probobly be able to sell it again at a profit if if you play your cards right.
