New info too! Wireless multiplayer mode in the vein of Four Swords (co-op comeptitive), you can wear a Koopa shell, there are classic flagpoles at the level ends (!), and the original Mario theme will definitely be present musically.

ooh how can 3rd parties ignore the DS? I know that not enough games have implimented the dual screen functionality to really make it worthwhile (save for Advanced Wars; the dual screens are a blessing in that one... mario kart will be nice too) .. but sparkling innovation or no, this is an impressive handheld and the first party titles just keep looking better

My God! My dreams have been answered. This looks like the craziest mario yet!

I have a question though. How do you play as both Mario and Luigi? My geuss is that it's like DK:Country where they just followed each other around.

Also, that new power-up is crazy! How come they hadn't thought of that before. Knowing Nintendo, they defintely have some other features hidden up their sleeve.

I can't put off buying this system any longer! It's driving me nuts. Now if they would just release the black or white version....

I didn't look up what the new powerup is. I want to be suprised. Time to go into blackout mode Twilight Princess-style. The one screenshot I did see looks really good. Everything looks a lot more smooth. Less jaggies or blockiness.

TURTLE MARIO GET!
I bet the jaggies aren't noticeable because the shots have been resized and antialiased for reprinting in the magazine. However, the jaggies in DS screenshots are not usually representative of the actual games, the screen is too small and there's too much going on for them to be as noticeable as they are in still shots.

There are a lot of people that are going around whining about the backgrounds, but I really love them...A new artistic feel for the Mario series...Anyways, the game is still a ways away so it'll only get better! =D

Wow, I got that old excited feeling looking at those screenshots, the same feeling I got with the first Nintendo Power talking about Mario 2, the same feeling I got when I went to see The Wizard in the theater.

Bill: Really? Who's complaining about them? I think the backgrounds are pure Mario! The only thing they're missing is eyes on the hills and clouds! I'm with you, I think the backgrounds are great, and I think they've improved a lot since the early screenshots where they looked a little bare.
