One thing I hate about Nintendo.com is how they put 'announced' for UN-announced release dates. Why can't they just put TBD?

Electroplankton in the US on January 6, 2006. We've confirmed with Nintendo sources that this is indeed the current, official release date for the "game."

Wouldn't be surprising if IGN goofed. Not that it really matters, being only 3 days apart and all. Unless 09 meant 2009.

Why is this a January release? It's still conisdered the holiday season, but it won't sell holiday volumes (either way). After intentionally delaying it this long, they might as well use it to fill a wider hole later.

[blinks] Huh? What the hell was that? ...This version better come in a nice, shiny box. If it doesn't I suggest importing a fancy version. The packaging is super-swanky.

No yeah, I was asking 2006/2009 not 6th or 9th - actually TMW only said January 09; didn't give a date.

It's almost definitely shipping on 1/9/2006. That's a Monday, which is when games typically are shipped. I don't think I've ever (in recent memory) seen a game ship on a Friday.

Anybody know any Canadian sites that will be selling this? I can't seem to find it on amazon.ca or futureshop.ca (they usually have pre-order pages).

Futureshop has been a little slow with some releases, and didn't get others at all. I know for 100% that NOC announced online retailers would sell it, while NOA was just saying Nintendo.com would sell it. I'd imagine futureshop gets it within a week of release.

This is one time I can't fault Nintendo for releasing something in January, there's just so many big DS games hitting the scene, there really was no other reasonable time for it. Plus... people who got DSes as a gift during the holidays might decide to pick this one up... it's such a weird title it's probably not the sort of thing one's liable to get for someone else anyhow.
