Pokémon Ranger screens released
« on: October 16, 2005, 09:32:13 AM »
What the fruckerdoodle?

Looks like it'll play similarly to the GBA RPGs...except battle sequences seem to be in 3D.

EDIT: I just realized...it seems like you can see the Pokémon outside of battle sequences now. o_O

EDIT 2: Pokemon gone Wind Waker?  It seems to be water-based, judging by the map on the top screen.

EDIT 3: lol I probably should have looked at the screens a bit more before I posted, but it seems like it actually plays NOTHING like the previous RPGS.  The characters are no longer little stubs with a hat and eyes, but rather fairly detailed and large.  Looks to be interesting...and VERY action-oriented...

Could this be the Pokemon RPG we've all been waiting for that Ninty refuses to put on the GC?

I'm not a humungo jungo RPG fan but I'm looking forward to this.  So yes, TMW, we could say that.

This is a different type of game, though. Pokemon whatever comes out next year and that's the real new Pokemon.

I like how you put a link to DSRevolution.com.  That is truely an awesome website, so yeah.  Y'all should go there too.

But it seems like the 3-D picture on the bottom is from Pokemon Snap (if I'm not mistaken).

lol no offense man, but the site's usually a week late on delivering news.  I remember they didn't post any WiFi Wednesday stuff until like Sunday.  But they are useful sometimes, as shown here.

And thanks to Artimus, I rest my case.

For shame, Seargent Shivers.  For shame.

perhaps we can attack with voice commmands (we'd have to record them for each pokemon and playing in public might be more difficult, but it'd be a nice option for a quick-paced game)
I'll shut up now...

It would be quite awesome.  And not necessarily for each Pokemon.  Just each type.  Like there should be an option in your Pokedex to go back and record your voice, or you can do it the old-fashioned way.

EDIT: What am I talking about?  No you wouldn't, it would be like Hey You Pikachu, no recording required.

That would be Pokemon Pearl/Diamond.

So, do we talk to the pokémon and then save them? Is this like some kind of Safari Zone?

Wasn't there a little bit of info on this game released already where they explained the basic premise...I'll see if I can find what I'm thinking of.

Edit:  No I guess there really isn't anything other than it's supposed to be very action oriented...
