Valve, Kojima on Rev?
« on: October 15, 2005, 07:51:36 AM »
Link

At DIEC 2005 in December, Kojima, Miyamoto, and Valve's Robin Walker are scheduled to speak together.  I don't really understand much from that link, but Gamespotters are saying that Miyamoto is supposedly talking about Rev, which would suggest that Walker and Kojima are as well.  Walker at a Japanese conference is big anyway, sometheing's going down.

Gamespot.

Or it could just be a roundtable with very popular game makers.

"Supposedly" and "Actually" are two different words...

I do expect something big to happen before the end of the year, but Miyamoto is only speaking for a half-hour...

You make it sound like the guys at nintendo can't turn the gaming world on its head in a matter of moments.

December-ton? MIYAMOTON?

I'd agree that this might sounds like nothing special, BUT a Valve guy at a Japanese conference is pretty weird, and the Revolution controller would be perfect for Half-Life, not to mention the Rev will have online play, it's a pretty big coincidence!

Miyamoto speaking will be enough to make it worthwhile anyway though.

Valve: "Waaaah! The Revolution is using some obscure 'Power PC' architecture! It's all too complicated, they should just run Windows!"
Kojima: "Man, the Rev is waaaay too easy to work with, we prefer the painful development on the PS3!"
Miyamoto: "Well, I've been looking around in my shower and came up with these three games here."

That last one made me laugh, KDR.

This convention could certainly be something important... Guess we'll have to wait and see, eh?

This is a long shot if I've ever seen one...BUT...then again we were in this same situation when we doubted the Rev controller's unveiling at TGS AND Square Enix's latest contributions to Nintendo DS.  Here's hoping that the Revolution's controller will attract FPS developers like Valve.

After all their complaints about multi-core programming, I will cry if Valve doesn't at least port HL2 to the console most suited for it in every way.

We should really keep a thread dedicated to all the possible moments we could get Rev news... with a timeline in the first post.

Urgh. If we get a spin-off I'll be peeved. I DON'T WANT METAL GEAR CRAPPY! Either come up with something unique or give us a REAL game. Not some cheap, unplayable spin-off.
