Even though I was thinking it, I would have never bought a PSP. The library consists mainly of UMB Movies. I have a portable DVD player for that (with a screen that it is larger than what the PSP has to offer). The few games that are available for the system don't impress me. Unless the price drops down to at least $179.99 and they release at least one must-have title, I won't be purchasing a PSP anytime soon.
It's funny - the only time I see people with PSPs out in public they are never playing games - only movies. The only time I have seen anyone with a DS in public they were playing a GBA game on it.
Advance Wars: Dual Strike has been keeping me very busy during my bus & train commute to and from work all week. People have been looking over my shoulder to see what I'm doing. I have a feeling this might be their first time being exposed to a DS.

Anyways - to get back on topic here...
I realize that the DS and the N64 are quite different, but it seems that N64 code is at least partially compatible with the DS', making ports of N64 games tedious but entirely possible. With that said, wouldn't it be easier for Capcom to use the code from the N64 version of RE2 and then rework it for the DS rather than redo RE1 from scratch?
