Forum <refresh> button suggestion?
« on: August 16, 2005, 11:42:33 AM »
Just a quick suggestion for a slight forum change if possible...

When there are hot topics (see the Zelda delay talkback thread) some people like to refresh the same thread as posts appear.  There is a conveniently placed <refresh> link in the bottom right corner.  The problem is it refreshes to the top of the page.  It would be really cool if the <refresh> link at the top of the page refreshed to the top of the page, and the <refresh> link at the bottom of the page, refreshed to the bottom of the page.

I know you are all probably pretty busy, but I just wanted to put it out there.

Might want to use the secret combination "F5" (there might also be a hidden button in your browser window, look for two arrows describing a circle about 2cm under the title bar) that works with most browsers, just like the Konami code. It'll refresh the page and place you exactly where you left. Or at least, it does in Firefox and Opera.

Yeah i know it does, but it is always finicky for me.  Especially on long pages.

For example, it begins loading at the top of the page, and if i scroll the window just a little bit, it basically cancels the effects.  That bottom refresh link is just screaming for a #bottom hyperlink.  =P

If everything else fails, use the "End" key on your keyboard.

Ok, now you got me KDR.  I know most shortcuts but I never realized the end key did that.  Silly me.  =P
