Stevey, you're missing an element on that 4D. It's passing of Time & Space, so it's not as simple as it sounds. OOT had the passing of Time from day to night, but that didn't make it 4D.

Sweet.  If IGN knows anything, we should also be encouraged, because Matt made it clear he'd be twice the b*tch he usually is if he didn't like how it was shaping up.

Just gave the picture another good look.  The highlighted "360 (Oh Yeah) could be in reference to MS or it could be the Rev since 360 represents a full revolution.  The song thats playing is called "History Repeating", I'm sure you can come up with a few ideas for what that could represent given Nintendo's rich history.  Also, people at the Gamestop forums pointed out the time elapsed on the song.  The picture is taken when the song is at 3:15.  People have made alot of guesses of what that could mean but what I find interesting is what SeriosGamer007 used to say in his blog ( I know, I know, many aren't fond of the guy and his "credibility" lol )  SeriousGamer always stressed March 15, the ides of March, as being the day the Revolution begins.  Could Matt be hinting at something similar too?  There are other theories brought up at the Gamestop thread about the 3:15 but my memory is shot.

And Ian, you probably have a better job than Matt.

You atleast have a better hobby...being the cynic and realist of the planetgamecube forums.

Coincedence or something more? lol  I'm not so sure its coincedence.  It seems like Matt carefully picked out what tracks to display and why would he wait 3:15 seconds into the song to snap a freaze frame of his desktop.  If he had everything all set for the snapshot, he could've done it right off the bat, the beginning of the song, or not even have the song playing all together.

Just imagine him sitting there, he sets up the desktop just as he wants it for the snapshot.  If he wanted to emphasize "History Repeating" all he had to do was highlight it, not even play it.  So picture him having the whole desktop set up as he wants it, why would he then wait 3:15 to take the snapshot?  Or why would he accelerate the time on the song to 3:15 for the snapshot.  There has to be something of importance with those numbers.

I would say Matt has definate hints in this picture...but remember Matt and IGN love to play pranks on the online community.

They understand the nature of the internet beast and rumors.  Matt knows all the rumors and I am sure stuff like 3.15 aren't coincidence...but a joke to see if people speculate.

I am looking at the picture but I don't want to take anything for truth or speculate because it could all be a joke.

Update from the Gamespot front. Some members are mentioning how Matt named his HD "Dark Tower". They say Matt is a HUGE fan of books. Some members say that in Stephen King's Dark Tower book, the number 19 is an important number. Tomorrow is the 19th, the day after the German expo, and the first day in the timeframe Matt said we'd get some new news from Nintendo. Matt had said in his mailbag a day or 2 ago that Rev info will be revealed anywhere from a day to a week after the German expo. Now I know this is REALLY looking into the pic so it could mean nothing, but I thought it was interesting to post. I guess we don't have to wait long at least to find out if the 19th holds any weight.

Just to be a realist.

Besides the 360 (so what)  {or whatever it says} song I don't think Matt handpicked all those songs to show up on the list.  They are all from the same band...so he probably just selected the Band that had the clue or whatnot he wanted.

The 3:15 isn't neccessarily anything.  I think that is a joke.  Or it could mean several things.

A true unveiling on 3/15/06
A launch that date
They will have 3-15 launch titles.
The picture was taken and a major coincidence happened.
Matt put it in there as a joke.

The Dark Tower could be named because his computer is in a black tower, which is somewhat different for Apple Computers.

The only thing that really jumps out for me is the topic Do you think we will get Revolution news tomorrow?  I don't know why, but I think it is something obvious like that...but perhaps not that.

"Naka-San: "You will be pleasantly surprised."
News from Leipzig. This morning, I interviewed Yuji Naka, creator of Sonic. I asked him just how revolutionary the upcoming Nintendo console really was and he answered: "I am under a strict NDA, so I can“t really say much. But I have seen the Revolution and I think everyone will be very pleasantly surprised, when Nintendo reveal everything."

In a few days I will be able to view the tape and write down the entire answer he gave. But this excerpt is good news already. Sorry for the lack of posts while I“m at the Games Convention - but please hang on in there"

Ok now I can't sleep for fear of missing the revolution I wish the give a date. when is this thing going to be over so they can unveal the revolution.

look at this avatar we fanal see it back

Hell, some seriously overzealous IGN message board readers spent hours last night and hours more this morning dissecting a screen grab of my computer desktop because they thought I was hinting at Revolution secrets.

I personally don't buy it, there is no way that he just took a quick snapshot of his desktop and it "just happens" to have so many slight references to the current gaming scene (xbox 360 and upcoming Rev news) Maybe if there was just one case of coincidence but this is too many to write off as simply that. I'm not sure if he is hinting at anything or if he did this on purpose just to mess with us, but that snapshot was planned IMO.

"The only thing I can tell you is that very soon there will be important news about Revolution."

http://cube.ign.com/articles/642/642885p1.html

In an answer to this WHOLE topics, more Revolution details ARE coming soon. I think Nintendo will feed us the details primarily through spaceship. Think Independence Day, where there's nothing but the ship in the sky because its so huge. Except the ship is one big N. And on the bottom of the ship, there's a huge video display. At least that's what this little kid told me. I trust my sources though.
