Yes, they do. When you are going for a walk and the bongo sounds starts a-playin', the dog is about to do its business.
Thanks for listening.

KDR:  No, My friends call me a Spaz because I like games.  I was just a nerd or a geek, but since they work with computers to create comic book characters and such, they realized they were more nerds and geeks than me.

So I suggested Spaz, because well it fits.

I don't know how much I will play this game, but I will get it just to teach the dog tricks.  I will have one "bad" dog that will learn commands that shouldn't be spoken outloud.  Just for kicks.

Does that mean you can have two separate files?

No, unfortunately you cannot.  I just have two copies of the game.  Separate trainers need separate games.  Although hypothetically, it would be possible to share the game if only one person interacted with a particular dog, and you put your others in the dog hotel, but then all your trainer points would be shared.

Ahhh.. oh well, thought that would be the case! Is there a downside to sharing trainer points?

If someone else was to play with my dog would it respond to them?

IGN's Review

They gave it an 8.8 - which I find a bit odd since Craig appears to have really enjoyed the title and only had some minor complaints in regard to the voice recognition.

GameSpot's Review

GameSpot gave it a 9.1 - that's more like. Also, GameSpot is much more critical so a 9.1 is like a "10" just about everywhere else.

I love how people consider an 8.8 horrible and a 9.1 "more like it".  C'mon, we're talking three tenths of a point.

I think it's because 9 is considered a holy number of sorts for most people. For me I'd say anything above 8.5 really makes me stand up and take notice (assuming I don't already want the game because then I pretty much couldn't care less.)

I just saw it as a "slap in the face" especially after his very positive review. 8.8 is a very good rating - but after all of the hype surrounding this game you would think that IGN would have awarded it a rating of a 9.0 or higher. That's all I was trying to say.

That's great. I brought my DS to work today, so I'd be able to play after picking up my pre-order during lunch. I was sitting at my desk trying to teach my Siberian Husky pup her name ("Wolfie", because she looks like a wolf) and my supervisor leaned his head around the wall of the cubicle and looked at me like I had two heads. So I answered his strange look by saying "Hey, my puppy is trying to learn her name". Then I said, "Oh nevermind" and shut my DS off. LOL

I played Advance Wars: Dual Strike on the train. People kept leaning in and looking over my shoulder to get a good look at what I was playing.

Let's not mention GameSpy and its 3.5/5.  Ouch.

This seems like the kind of game that'll either be completely awesome, or completely crappy.  Kind of like Animal Crossing or the Sims.  I don't doubt that it'll be as awesome as either though, so it'll probably be a game I end up getting.

Maybe I'll name my pet after my real dog, and give it more attention as well.  That would just be delightfully cruel... yet depressing.

I had some doubts before I picked up the game, but they've been laid to rest primarily because the game's deeper than I was expecting.

I picked up my copy yesterday, and named my white chihuahua "Dingo" (which may or may not be short for "Nindingo")

I got a kick out of how Dingo seems to be, er, "marking his territory" at the same spot each time we go for a walk (shows up as a little blue circle on the map).

Haha! I just got my copy.

I have a Welsh Corgi named Rufus...

I was thinking about naming her Einstein, but that seemed a little advanced for the voice recognition...

But after teaching her three tricks, I now know better.
