I thought we were debating the correlation between "Revolution" and gyro controls for quite some time now?

This reminds the absurd theory that ms decided to put the 360 name as pun to a "revolution", it doesnt change the fact that 360 is the most stupid name ever for a console though.

I think the pun with both names 360 and Revolution is that either one means that you end up right back where you started...

Sony is very happy with that.

You forgot a couple definitions in there, Omen.

Agreed, but  those are the definitions people seem to focus on all too much so I left them out...wanted to point out there are other POTENTIAL implications....

In EGM they titled their 360 article "A Full Revolution."

They are definately playing off of the Revolution's name just like they did with the Cub/Box.  MS are dicks like that.  Further, the most talk about Nintendo through the whole biased issue was in the last pages with talk between Che and Shoe about how Nintendo is going to stay a niche company.

One MS exec claimed they chose the name because they asked people what they associate with the term "360". Obviously noone told those people that MS was thinking of adding 360 to their product name or the answer would have been along the lines of "bad Generation X name".

Focusing on the mechanical definitions of the word revolution helped me come up with my controller ideas about trackballs and scroll wheels.  It very well could also be a play on the gyro spinning.  But what matters is how that gyro is used.  What if MS and Sony got all readied up to copy the REV's gyro with a tilt sensor and/or trackball in their controller (thinking they have Nintendo figured out).  Then Nintendo comes out with the beans and the gyro isn't even used in the controller but rather on a head band or in a helmet; and the controller is pretty normal or even out of this world (haptics).  The technologies are there.  The important thing is figuring out how Nintendo will use the technologies.
