Or it could be like the car games in Mario Party 6 - "Sumo of Doom-o" and that other one where you have to dodge the thwomps and go past the barriers to the end. To control the car, the first analogue stick controls the left wheels and the other one controls the right wheels.

To go straight -----> Both up
To go right & straight --------> First one up, second one right
To go left & straight --------> First one left, second one straight
To go back ---------> Both down

Yeah, this thread's been dead since March...

But Katamari Damacy's no-show at E3 raised my eyebrows, at least.  Two possible reasons:

1.  Was never planned / scrapped early on
2.  The project evolved into a new franchise

It's not really a long shot.  Could we see a new touch-heavy game from the brilliant and twisted minds that brought us Katamari?

Or it ended up on a different platform.

Here's hoping it's still DS-bound, but I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't have at least announced it at E3 if it was....

Cellphones can't do 3d so expect that to be a rather onesided Katamari game...

Katamari DS might have been cancelled because they couldn't get the DS to display that many objects.

It was never really confirmed by another source that Katamari DS was happening, though.  No news is bad news... but the DS is young!  Here's hoping.  (Although I want a new franchise from the creators more...)

Reread the article I posted; it's in 3d.  Look for the sentence in big bold letters if you can't be bothered to read the whole article.

The current high-end phones can do 3d (see Kingdom Hearts for handsets).

Even if it were scrapped, we have an online Namco RPG to make it up for.

It was in Nintendo Power, and they have as good a Nintendo release list as anyone...seeing how they are owned by Nintendo.

It likely is not ready to show yet...if you look at the (excellent) DS coverage, you can see a lot of no-shows of many of the anticipated Japanese titles. Square-Enix, who has some of the highest profile DS titles around in development, doesnt seem to have anything to show just yet.
Outside of Nintendo and a handful of American publishers (like Ubi and Majesco with Nanostray and Guilty Gear) there aren't too many others yet showing their wares for the DS (Konami, thankfully, is one of them...I wants my Castlevania). EA doesnt even seem to have anything on display, yet we all know they have their list of usual suspects in development.

In regards to the japanese third party games, lets wait for the Tokyo Game Show before we panic about cancellations...

Anyways, good lord the DS has an awesome lineup coming this year ^______^
