Nintendogs!
« on: March 09, 2005, 06:50:52 PM »
Man, I am so glad they got rid of the "Puppy Times" title. Well I think the game is looking like its going to come out pretty well. I thought for awhile that you were just going to stay in one room and train your dog and play with it all day. I hope they add the ability for super-powers. A Krypto would be the best. And machine guns. Definetly machine guns. And I can't spell definatly. So yeah, come post your messages in here.

I want it too... Love the competition things you could take your dogs through. Im hoping Golden Retrievers are in it. My dad loves Golden Retrievers and owns two of them. I think it will be the game that makes him turn from a non gamer to a gamer

I've read the hands-on on both IGN and Gamespot and I officially can't wait.  Like Savior, I too hope they will include Goldens.  And there's still a chance, I think it was IGN that said some of the dogs will change from the Japanese build to the American build.

Yeah, I really prefer the Nintendogs title.  Much more clever, much less annoying.
I'm looking forward to this; I think my sister will really like it, too.

It would be sorta interesting if they did this within the Pokemon game. Just as an extra.

I still think that they should update Pokemon for the next gen system. Imagine a more realistic version. If there was an actual Pikachu in front of you, what would it look like. Fur effects and all. Just a lush world. Like remember that feeling when you saw Jurassic Park. The scale and awe of the different creatures. Imagine a world like that. Almost wild. There are monsters around. These animals. And you love it. That would revolutionlized Pokemon one way... in addition of online play.

I had a great idea. For the giving the dogs a bath part of the game, they should have some dogs be tempermental at first, and try to jump out of the tub and u have to prevent him from doing that. Eventually the dog would become more obediant.

I really love how the dogs look by the way. They move very fluidly and have life-like animations. I really like how they interact with you and lean against the screen sort of. What's your favorite dog type? My favorite is the shiba or beagle.

That would terrify me, actually.

Sorry, but realistic Pikachu would give me nightmares.

As for Nintendogs... well, I'm glad they changed the name.

I've heard alot of positive things from people who've actually played the game.

I haven't really been following this game, because it doesn't appeal to me all that much.

Quick question, has there been any sort of word on if this game makes use of the DS' internal clock?  Meaning if I bought this game, would I have to play during my lunch hour for fear of coming home at night and having a bunch of yellow-stains on my virtual carpet?  Just curious.

The internal clock really turned me off of Animal Crossing, and I think it would do the same for this game.  If you can't go on vacation for a week without worrying about coming home to a dead virtual dog, the game needs to be re-thought.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

No, your dog can't die. Also, I think the game is focuse more on the training of the dog aspect, than the taking care of it. Also it probably won't have the internal clock thing.

I don't think this game will have an internal clock either, though I'm not sure.  Nothing I've seen suggests that it has any night/day sequences, and feeding them only seems to be a reward or something along those lines.  Like thepoga said, training not care.

Alright my spelling isn't great so give me some slack in here. I know the big N won't do it but how about a N'dogs version with a Rot,Pit,Doberman and some other bad  dogs. It would sure help the image of N always bieng dorky. They always lead with there ideas but the competitors always flood there resources so that they rip off the idea and make it to market before N does, so N always seems to the average consumer to be second, plus the average consumer dosen't care about who's idea it was. I do though and it's good to see the big N back at it again pushing the envelope and making the expieience fresh and new again.

I like that qoute Dan. I would buy N'dogs if it had my two favorite dogs( Rot and Pitbull ). Although how would N handle the violent characteristics of a pitbull. They might tone it down.

That all depends, really.  If you're talking about in the game, I have no idea ... it depends on whether or not the developers even implemented that sort of feature.

If you mean in real life, I hear that any dog is trainable with the right technique.  However, different dogs are motivated by different things.  For example, some dogs do well with with verbal reinforcement, while others (like my Beagle) do well with treat-based reinforcement.  With Casey, I used a combination of "clicker" training and treat-reinforcement.  I got Casey when he was six-weeks old, and I had him sitting on command on Day 2.  Beagles are notoriously hard to train, because the owner has to be as stubborn as the dog.  Casey and I are a good match.

you could probably train any dog really...

My Dad trains dogs for a hobby, every monday and thursday he used to meet up with other dog trainers of different breeds to practice, hes even fofficated some tournaments...

you could probably get more information online from differing websites like the American Kennel Club AKC...

well i was talking about the dogs in the game. It would probably try to mimic real life dogs as much as possible in their skill sets, and I wanted to know which dog would be the best for it right out of the box. Basically i want to find out which version of Nintendogs i should get.
